I suited up for a visit to Dell Children's Hospital today. It was such a great time! I wish I had pictures I could show. Patient privacy, though, so no visuals. There were so many smiles from kids in the ward, their siblings, and their parents! And the hospital staff was wonderful.

I met one family that consisted of a mom, dad, and four kids. Three of the kids were inpatients. I don't know what happened to them, but those 3 kids were banged up pretty bad. That was a hurting family. But they were sticking together, and I got to see them smile with a few moments of escape.

Later, when I was out of costume, I passed them in the hallway. They didn't recognize me. I didn't let on. And the usual social boundaries were back.

But that's the magic of fursuiting. We had met. We had fun for a while. We were friends, and they didn't even know it. It was possible because I was dressed up as a lion.

I hope I'll be able to do more stuff like this. The hospital has invited me back. I'm going to try reaching out to hospitals closer to where I live, too. And with the references I picked up today, I think it'll happen.
