Career Musings and Video Games

I was chatting with my brother and, as we've both become comfortable with outsourcing, we came up with an idea. I'm well known for being an avid video gamer and video game designer and as such I endeavour to enter the video game industry. My goal has been to get in through my animation talents and get exposure for my design skills. However I believe there may be a way to both speed the process and skip a few steps too.
Anyhoo I'm considering starting my own game studio. The focus would be on flash based games for the Nintendo Wii. I've already got one game approaching the end of its development cycle and it would be perfect on that platform. I managed to find a programmer overseas to do all the code whereas I designed the game itself as well as the graphics.
So if you're a skilled flash programmer or web designer keep an eye out on my journals. After my next contract and current game are finished I plan on a quick site launch and immediate commencement of future game development. I already have 1 additional expert programmer and about 3 intermediate programmers lined up for future games.
Although I've been keeping the nature of my game a secret I will announce it once I release it on newgrounds. The game has been on hiatus since last fall since i was spending all my time looking for work, and then working. :P
Sorry no furry games at this point :P

Shame i'm not a flash man, :P But it sounds cool :P
If your ever needing game music, drop by and take a peak :P
And have a particular fancy for game music, so keep me posted :P!
Though with "outsourcing", that implies you're paying somebody to do it, and to do it on time and to your specifications. If it's what it sounds like, I'm intrigued by the premise.
I want to be able to get to a point where I have full time devs on payroll and have the studio as my full time job.
I can understand that people are willing to work for less instead of having no work, but when they settle for so little...*shakes his head.* First it was Mexico, then China, then India, nex it'll probably be Africa once the Indians start expecting decent wages that threaten corporate profits...after that? Maybe, just maybe, things will work out.
I doubt it though. I keep seeing muschroom clouds around every corner!
The objective is to ultimately build not just a studio but a community of artists and programmers that work together to create amazing games.
Think of it as collaborative marketing for people that otherwise would get little exposure.
Game complexity will vary quite a bit but will always be dependant on the skill level of the programmer and other contributors in each case.
However all the games will be very unique and generally have gameplay that has never been employed before. They would range from simple shooters to 3d action games and RPGs. Pretty much only top tier flash games exclusively.
Maybe after some practice I'll look you up. ^.^
Luck! ^-^
