Black diamond stood in front of a mirror. among the gems he was one of the few who took a more masculine figure his gem which like his name implies is a solid black diamond rest at the base of his throat. His skin tone a dark stormy grey. his eyes purple. his hair was long and held in place by a simple black gem laced cord. his face was set in a frown. He has been working on a new project for the glory of Homeworld. having found a strong species of organic life on his only colony he had taken an interest in trying to replicate their power in a new form of soldier. how ever all attempts to create a fabricated specimen failed ending in malformed gems that had to be shattered for their own good.
He instead taken to the idea of possibly converting them into loyal gem soldier. and thus the experiments began. he caught as many of them as he could. imprisoning them with specially designed technology he developed a different type of gem. these gems when inserted into a organic would worm itself throughout the organic's body converting them into gem/organic hybrids. however all of the subjects howled in pain some taking to ending their own lives to escape the pain. how ever the latest batch while still in pain seemed to be surviving thanks to some special precautions.
Walking over to his personal computer he checked the vitals of his subjects. he frowned as he notices several had passed away through the night. but one in particular seems different. it's heartbeat was flat but there was signs of brain activity. had his experiment worked? had he created the first Gem organic hybrid? suddenly the power in the facility went out. and alarms ring out through the halls. Frowning he gets up. "Pearl? where are you?" he calls into the darkness.
"I am here my diamond." replies a small voice as a pale purple glow enters the room his pearl holding up a Lightorb. "What has happened?" he commands turning his back on the pearls slender figure. he had never been fond of his pearl as he found her rather boring in personality. but she was after all only a pearl. "The power was cut in the Projects area. we are currently investigating the cause. though that one red one has gone missing. He frowns at the news. the one who had no heart beat was loose. and he had yet to determine if he had succeeded. "Find him. NOW!" He yells.
"1, 2, I see you~" a eerie voice echo's through the room. the pearl looking confused brightens the orb casting heavy shadows through the room but no one could be seen. "What did you say sir?" she asks thinking Black Diamond had spoke. but he was just as confused holding his gem weapon. a long black crystal sword. "Shut up Pearl." he snarls as he listens.
"3, 4, I locked the door~" the voice calls again. the pearl panicking tries the door and finds it to be true. "It is locked sir. and I can't override the controls." she says as she sticks her hands into the control panel her eyes glowing with streaming data. "Pearl get over here now." Black Diamond commands knowing something isn't right.
"5, 6, You had your kicks~" once more the voice rings out this time followed by a creepy chuckle a scuffling sound coming from the edges of the room as Pearl runs over to her Diamond raising the orb high to try and cast light on the unknown voice. Black diamond holds his blade at the ready frowning. "Come out, NOW."
"7, 8, I won't obey~" it calls sounding louder now. Black Pearl spins around shining the light into the corner but all see gets is a quick shadow dashing out of the light. Black diamond pushes her behind him. "I COMMAND THAT YOU SHOW YOURSELF SOLDIER!" he yells his eyes scanning the dimly lit room as he hears other gems trying to break down the door.
"9, 10, Play a game?" it asks the laughter sounding almost deranged this time. as Black diamond realizes who the voice belongs to. "Obsidian, get out here right now." he commands though the tone he takes up sends black pearl into a crazed fear. "Obsidian Sir? but isn't that?" she asks not wanting to finish her sentence.
"Hello daddy~ Ready to play?" Obsidian's voice echos out as another purple light flares up in the darkness. a young red dargon standing there his eyes glowing with a eerie purple light. a simple black gem embedded into the base of his throat much like Black Diamond. His face drawn into a smile but it was sinister and Black Diamond backs up frowning. "Did you cut the power?"
"Yes daddy~ hide and kill is so much more fun in the dark~" He replies his face still holding the deranged smile as his gem glows a long scythe appearing out of it. he holds in across his shoulder the blade glowing with a menacing purple light. "Hide and Kill? What are you talking about?" He asks as he raises his black sword and pushes Pearl into a escape pod. though he might dislike her she was still under his command and she needed to get back to tell the other diamonds what he has done.
"Hide~" he says as the lights disappear and he fades back into the shadows. Black diamond feels a chill run down his back as the long scythe blade appears at his neck the tip resting at his gem which vibrates from the power emanating from the blade. "And Kill~ Your such a bad daddy~" he laughs he whispers in Black Diamonds ear. as the door blasts open a sicking shattering sound fills the air. the blade of the scythe shattering Black diamonds gem who screams loudly in pain before falling to pieces and disappearing in a mess of floating data. the shards laying on the floor. Obsidian chuckles fading back into the shadows. "Who wants to play with me next?"
