NOVA Furs Update and Events Update for September
9 years ago
Check HERE for the most up-to-date meetup info.
Hello everyone! Also, welcome to our new watchers since our last post. :)
sirkain here. Sorry for the page being dead/quiet for a while. Between the leaders of the group having school and job changes going on and reorganizing the leaders themselves the page got left behind. Sorry about that! Hopefully that wont happen again.
Here is a list of events we got going on for September:
When: Saturday, 10 September @ 18:00
Where:
sirkain's Place, 12016 Aden road, Nokesville
RSVP: http://www.meetup.com/NOVAfurs/events/233487715/ or https://www.meetup.com/Sir-Kains-meetups/events/233487768/.
Images of house and where to park:
House - https://goo.gl/sL3Ewn
Where can/can't park - https://goo.gl/iZznjW
Other photos of the parking areas and deck and inside rooms are in this Dropbox folder - https://goo.gl/TYZ7VS
NOTE: My dad and step mom may be in town by then (They are still dealing with issues in KY that is hindering them from coming to this area for a few months). If they are here, one of the larger guests rooms will be used up by them. An we will need to watch the noise level by 11pm so they can sleep.
Will start later than normal because I will be busy before then helping
kheldarianl move in Leesburg for the earlier half of the day. The fire pit is made, back yard cleaned up and ready to play ball in, set up tents in or simply enjoy the fire pit at night time or chill on the deck if gaming/playing pool isn't your thing. 30-40 seem to come to this on average, but there is 2 floors, garage space and some rooms on my half of the house to divide up into small groups if folks want.
Please do not park at the school across the street, there are plenty of parking spaces available on my driveway and along the curb near my house and there is also the yard in case there is any additional parking necessary. Just be warned that if the grass is wet there is potential for your car to get stuck in it. I have tow rope and such to help yank people out if needed.
This is a non-fursuit event but you are welcome to bring ears/tails to the event. This is primarily a space concern as there may be a lot of people coming to this event (and may knock down my stuff!)
There are three (3) indoor-only cats here at the house.
There is a Harris Teeter, Wawa and 7-11 nearby for some snacks/drinks but please bring some to share with others. Alcohol will be present but underage drinking is not allowed and moderation will be heavily encouraged as we would love to enjoy keeping the newly renovated space clean.
There will be video games available, a pool table, 2 kitchens, a large deck and a few bedrooms available for people to crash. Priority will be people who travel a long way and those that want to stay overnight so as not to have anyone driving after consuming alcohol.
If you have any other questions please don't hesitate to contact me through meetup or at
sirkain. I am also on Telegram and most every other messenger service out there.
(Due to Meetup only allowing one question for RSVP'ing, if you plan to come please observe the following host questions)
1. Do you plan to sleep over? If Yes, if you can pack a sleeping bag and pillow in case I run out of my own would be helpful.
2. Do you have any food allergies we should be aware of?
3. We have 3 cats here. Are you allergic to cats/cat dandruff? if so, would advise bringing medicine to help cope with it.
4. If you have some spare fold-up chairs, mind bringing a couple if have room? if you do, would advise labeling them so you know which are yours! I really could use some spares!

-- Know your limits-Dehydration is quick to set in and can send you to the hospital please be mindful of your personal limits.
-- Spotter is a must-There will be kids present and adults who may have never encountered a fursuiter before, a spotter can prevent injuries before they happen.
-- Drink 2 Bottles of water before and after suiting- Stay hydrated, putting water in will help keep you stay out of trouble. Always carry water on you at all times as it is not readily available and stay away from Soda/Beer/Mead while suiting.
-- Uneven ground and Dirt Warning-This is an outdoor event and there will be dirt/mud and nature which can and will get your suit dirty.
-- Remember you represent the community-Be especially mindful that your actions are in the public view.
-- Hands Visible when interacting with kids/adults-Remember to keep those paws visible at all times, it prevents someone making false accusations.
--It’s OK to Walk Away or break the magic-If you're in trouble or issues arise then break the magic if needed, your there for your enjoyment as well.
Please understand that this private property and should you be asked to remove your mascot head and or change out of your fursuit do not argue with the request.
