Not everyone's definitions of cheating are the same.
It's cheating if your significant other doesn't know. You have to ask first and set up bounds. If your significant other gives the A-OK, it's fine, otherwise it's definitely cheating and you should feel ashamed and apologize.
Personally, these things complicate a relationship, I'd just reserve it to my partner.
