It's a harsh and simple truth. You can never go back to the way things are, and you just gotta pull what you can together and move on. For a while you'll be hollow, putting on a pretty face and making small talk, but over time the hurt lessens.
It's something I've experienced enough time to leave some pieces behind. Your little piece really hit the nail on the head.
