I'm not so good with names.

Cybernetics: spine, tail, eye

Reason for cybernetics: involved in scouting mission that went sideways when their commanding officer betrayed them. Was nearly mortally wounded but saved but their luitenant who lost a limb in the process.

Markings: because of extensive Cybernetics there is a trace amount of glowing green fluid that causes his veins (especially along his spine) to glow

Job: ex-military now teacher (dunno I was going for something completely not part of the militarg)

Whole spine or taur spine?

I like the idea of military. Maybe Scientist/Mercenary?
