Maybe because the content doesn't appeal to them, but the art does. I do look at them, but reserve favs for things that hit my regions of main interests .v.

I could make an (f) list out of these, but: deities/powerful beings, ferals on anthros (even though I prefer anthros, I really like these together), tentacles, shiny and glowy things, smooth things, toned things, majestic things... Oh yeah, and AVIANS OvO. Avians, because they're neat little sleek things, and pokemon because there's so many to choose from.
From non lewd, mechanical and metal characters. Maybe not artificial limbs, but full on machines.
I should really make an f-list, that's not even everything .v.

Sorry, I am just semi-lazy with comments and watchin' so many to a point of forgetfulness. ^^; I do try to occasionally improve on that but my memory's crap.

Ahhh, that can be an issue yes. Though i find it easier to come across people's work on FA compared to DA which seems a lil TOO organized.

I tend not to comment much because I don't really have much to say that doesn't sound creepy/weird, but I always gave if I like it!

That's the thing that bugs me with watchers sometimes. They always try to be stuck up underneath the popular artist but when it comes to someone like myself....I get neglected. What gives?

I just feel like im under appreciated at times. Like say I drew something for a particular popular artist as a gift. I get no, comment or favs. Then another popular artist comes along does a gift....and then they get all the praise in the world. So just because he has alot more watchers makes him more worth commenting/faving compared to mine? Kindve a low-blow if you ask me.

Can't change em' thats for sure :/ Though I just dont get it...I think everyone should be treated equally regardless of being pro or amateur at drawing.

I tend to stick with more SFW and the lighter side of NSFW content.....sometimes Ill venture into the very naughty side as well but that's not all for me. Unfortunately we live in a world where "Sex sells" but Im not gonna post porn to get popular.....that's pretty much a cheap shot.

I fully understand this because I'm in the same boat with you man. The sad thing is most people come here for artwork and they're not interested in the person behind it, unless they're popular and make amazing art in the vain hopes they'll get something from them.

That's why getting real friends you can trust is important, they're the ones who care and support you.

I may only be one person but to me, you're one of the most important artists on this site and in this fandom.

I take you seriously, I'm just not much for fave-ing artwork of any kind. I like to keep my favorites as small as possible, so that anything I do put in there can be found again really easily. It doesn't mean I don't appreciate your artwork X3

As for comments, I never really know what to say. If I do comment it's often just me saying it's great, which a few other people have usually said already. Maybe I should make a point to comment more anyway. I have a hard enough time thinking up non-generic responses to any comments I get on my own stuff XD

I'm gonna tell you a little tale. The tale... OF THE ARTISTS WHO NEVER LEAVE ME COMMENTS (while leaving comments on other people's pages) UNTIL THEY DO LEAVE ME COMMENTS AND IT'S A HUGE FUCKING LET DOWN SO FUCK THEM... ahem... *pulls out book*
So basically, I can't tell you how many artists I commented on and never got a reply from. I always figured that maybe it was cause my comments were generic and they didn't have much to say/thought my account was a robot, forgot cause they get thousands of comments a day on their page, etc etc. REGARDLESS... I would never get comments, but I'd check other people's profiles and they'd be commenting on other folks' at times. Well... finally, I started getting some comments back, and I was like "OMG AM I BECOMING AN POPLER *insert sickly squee noise here*" until I realized... the artists all just kinda copy pasted the same generic thank yous and comments to ALL THE PROFILES! Whether it was me... or someone much more successful than me, or that random person who just posts memes to their DA page with a slight bit of copy paste action to make it fit to a fandom! So... in the end... I realized that I still pretty much wasn't getting comments and actually attention from a person... but you know what? The person was just an acquaintance and/or attention whore... so it didn't matter and didn't actually affect me... so I just went and ran into my fraaaaaaaaands who showered me with shitty (in the good way) jokes and dank memes and TREATED ME LIKE THE TRU ART PRINCESS I AM. Theeeeeeeeeeeee eeeeeeeeeeend! *throws book into fire*

But yeah, point being, a lot of the time, it's not worth it. They're generic people, they're looking for a certain type of artist *cough* like a virally popular one *uncough* or they just don't have time for other folks (hence copy pasting the exact.same.fucking.comment to everyone's page... whether it's someone they just met or a dear friend they've had for 15 years, it's still the generic "omg thanks so much for the fav nice gallery omg this means the world to me!" )

As for the lack of comments and favs on your art and that being a reflection of people taking you serioulsy, ooooooooooof there's just so many reasons it could be, too many reasons, it's not always for the worst either, and no it's not a reflection on how seriously people take you. Like have you seen the comments in Dav's stuff. Have you SEEN... the stupid 1 word comments... where someone is just like "cool" or "neat" or "sexy".... honestly I'm happier getting no comments and faves than I am seeing fav spammers and people who just leave single words xD I don't think a lack of comments means people don't take me serious, I usually view it more aaaaaaaas people didn't see me, people don't care about the content of the particular drawing, or there just isn't anything to talk about in the drawing. And those are just a few reasons people may not comment/fav. Thing is, with you and me, we kind of have this problem where we don't actually make our pieces something people can pull good fulfilling comments out of. It's not that your art is bad, it's not the my art is bad, it's not that the artwork isn't serious, but when you look at the latest drawings in our galleries... it's just characters in poses, and sometimes characters dressed as other characters in poses. There isn't really anything telling a story, there isn't really something there to provoke thoughtful comments. I know for me, when I can't muster more than a "oh that looks good!" out of myself, I just completely forego commenting, cause it's totally hollow and it's ANNOYING to run into NOTHING but comments like that, like seriously. I can also say, from my own personal perspective and tastes, I don't like pictures of characters from my childhood/family friendly shows/super motherly characters (makes me think of my parents basically) in erotic art/pinup art/fetishised/sexualized in general. It's just a taste thing. And when the content isn't in my taste, I don't really look at it, and thus don't comment or fav. The art can be amazing, and I can take the artist totally seriously, but it just makes me feel extremely uncomfortable, so I just avoid it. There's lots of people like that, not necessarily with you specifically, but just in general. People that feel like they just don't wanna click, and/or that it would be pointless to click on it just to leave hate... and that's honestly because they DO take you seriously and RESPECT you too!!!

Anyways... I think you see the points I'm making (and this isn't me judging you and stuff, I just usually respond to thoughts by offering examples and what not) and I think this trainwreck of a comment has gone on long enough xD Thank you for your thoughts, it was as interesting thing to ponder and think about that I don't think is simply as easy as elitists vs. non elitists and stuff.

To all the folks struggling with this, I hope you can make peace with it, and when it comes to the acquaintances that don't respond back to you... SCREW THEM! PARTY WITH ME INSTEAD! I HAVE CAKE! MUHAHAHAHA! But no, seriously, brush them off, it's not important, what happens when they DO respond to you? It's like... welcome to a friendship that will be cold and one sided for most of the time... probably anyway... (not to be an asshole, I just know how that can go). Go poke your friendos instead!

I also have someone on my watchlist. But not actually a friend of mine but a well-known supporter and artist who always favs my stuff, but rarely comments on them. Yet he comments on one of my friend his pics whenever he uploads something. (not including scraps)

For me, i always comment on your stuff whenever i have something useful to say. Instead of putting a 1 word phrase to waste space. xD
