My memories of 9/11

So my English teacher wished for everyone to explain or atleast tell their stories of 9/11. I thought that if any one of you are interested, I'll like to tell mine.
When the planes hit, I remember sitting on the front living room watching TV. The second tower hasn't been hit yet but I remember my parents making frantic phone calls to that airports because I had friends and family who were riding on airplanes that same day. For my age, I was pretty lost. I had the sense to know this was a terrorist attack but I had no idea why. When the second building hit I honestly couldn't believe it. Just something in my mind just a kept saying no way this is real.
Honestly that's all I can remember. I didn't feel like that scarred me in any way, but my mother would say I would be terrified to get near one of those mechanical airplanes where you put quarters in. She said my response would be "I don't want to crash" when I'm nearby them.
Another memory I do remember was when I heard a conversation between my 4th grade teacher Mrs Adams (I've forgotten her first name) and a teacher advisor. She was there when the second building fell. She was leaving the area via ferry ride across the water. Tons of other boats would come by and try to evacuate others , she's seen some boats so filled, it looked like it was going to flip any second. The most memorable thing I remember from her conversation was " When the boat was pulling away, I heard light smacking in the back. I thought someone was dumping fish onto the floor but...those were people leaping off the building."
