Just this evening, while walking back home with a few college friends, a small group of children (maybe 5 kids of 10 to 13 years old still with their school uniforms and backpacks) in the public transport peeked their heads (and some half of their torsos) out the window and waved us goodbye.

Most of my friends waved back and smiled to the kids, cuz they found that "cute coming from such young kids", but for some reason, maybe I was already mad or maybe how unsafe the whole "peek out of the window" thing is pissed me off, but I raised my hand, and flipped them the bird without thinking twice.

All of the children looked at me in a weird mix of awe and fear as the van rode away, in a moment that, despite only being a few seconds long, felt like whole minutes going in slow-motion.

After that, all of them remained inside the vehicle the rest of the ride and hopefully they learned a valuable lesson about safety on the public transportation; in the meantime, my friends will remember this story as a solid proof that I'm already a bitter old person.
