You know, I had took a 3 hour train ride from my hometown and that is including changing trains at Central. Literally had to carry my head and tail I made for my own argonian fursona and a backpack with my other essential shit including my wallet and I phone. I do not bring another person with me like that it's recommended for fursuiters. And man, it is so worth it. Woop, woop!
I mean think about it. A 26 year old man who lives in a city where the furry fandom is so much of an alien subculture here. And enjoys cosplaying and fursuiting. But has not been to a real furry event before this. Not to mention my social skills are so shit.
Also by the way. This is actually the first time I went out in public anywhere as an argonian in the name of Bruzo. People were in awe as I put on this partial like the times I did as being in this mascot cosplay fullsuit of Shiny Umbreon. Even in the trains coming to and from the meet. Even in Central station and in the suburb of Wolli Creek which is South East of Sydney. I meet some amazing and awesome people that are both non suiters and fursuiters. Some of which include one of my sempis of both of the furry and YouTube community
PocariRoo,
Muttasaur, etc. I get to have photos taken with them. All of them are very nice people.
Some People wanted to take pictures of me which is cool. I had made a lot of friends there. The only drama I had over there is my tail being decapitated and ruined as that it actually fell apart from the kidney the I taped and hot glued it too. It is unfortunate but the partial I was wearing is still at it's testing phase. I put the blame on myself for that as I thought my work on the tail was structurally sound but neither the glue and the duct tape hold together. It was an absolute disaster on my behalf. But I didn't let that get to me as much. I still had fun and enjoyment from it.
But there is this 1 main thing I regret about it. That is I didn't book accommodation anywhere in Sydney. Not to mention that I didn't register for the whole weekend of the event. But because of the distance between where I live and the place the event took place in the accommodation is my top priority. Because it is stupid to catch 4 trains per day of the weekend all that way. I was there of a very limited time and I had no choice to pull a one dayer. And that is a very stupid mistake I also made.
And in this day to the next suit outing, I'm suffering Post Con Dep. There is much I wanted to do like hug many other fursuiters take picture and selfies with them. Getting to know them more as not only as their fursonas but also as humans in the costumes. Also I miss hanging out with them but what can I do? No choice but to wait for the next years one or better the next furry event I can make it to.
Because it's my first real furry event I been to, it is really something that puts a smile on my face as I can finally be out of my shell and express that way I see myself as. I am not an only out of towner in the meet. I know the majority of furs even though all but 1 which is Muttasaur reside in NSW. But wither there fursuiters or non suiters. I consider the attending furs as my distant family. I just want to say in closing that to the staff that put thing together, the fellow attendees and the volunteers. If you read this I want to thank you all for this effort in making an event that is encourage able to be expressive to ourselves and cater to those in NSW who have no financial means to go interstate just for a furry event. I am looking forward to have our paths to cross again. Be it as a convention or a meet. Be it as
FurJam,
FurDU,
Confurgence, Anthrocon or whatever. You are all awesome.
