Been Gaming Lately?

Hi, I hope all is well. As I spend my Saturday leisurely doing nothing with the TV running in the background, I thought I'd just write this journal discussing the games I'm playing right now.
Recently I completed Killer 7 on the Gamecube. It's one of those games I've had in my collection for a number of years, but criminally overlooked it. I finally got round to playing it and discovered quite a gem in the process. One of the outstanding qualities is the art style. The visuals are very vivid and vibrant, utilising colours (often over saturated hues) selectively and purposefully. This produces a whole range of moods and themes throughout the different stages, offering a kind of visual quality that I find to be quite rare these days. Despite the game's linear navigation system, the manual first person targeting system and explorative puzzle solving elements offer a very immersive gameplay experience. The personalities and characters are as vivid as the graphics, offering a variety of gameplay styles necessary to progress further. The game is Quentin Tarrantino meets Jet Set Radio, with a narrative structure and visual attitude that offers sophistication and cinematic style. The game is actually very violent and disturbing with an 18 certificate, but is all executed tastefully with a certain level of brutal finesse. I'd certainly recommend the game to any Capcom fan, or even those into the noire film genre.
Other games I've recently procured and completed include Starfox Adventures and Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg, both enchanting and entertaining games I should have completed much earlier. I'm currently working on the Gamecube version of Resident Evil (a game I have never really played before) as I wait for the copy of Metroid Prime I have ordered the other day on Ebay. Essentially it's been gamecube fever for me lately. However, there are so many other games I have to play on a plethora of other systems, including the Yakuza series on Playstation.
If you're like me and you're disenchanted with the current state of the industry, now is a great time to be a gamer and a videogame collector with all the generations of systems that have come and gone over the years.
So... what are people playing right now? Or what games would you like to play, new or old?

FA+

Resident Evil is one of my go to franchises from Capcom. I bought a Gamecube specifically only to play the resi games on it. I tried emulators on PC but they just werent the same. Who are you playing as? The girl or the guy? I prefer the girl because she has more bagspace and more weapons to use. I advise switching to the Shotgun for the majority of the game as it doesn't take much to kill enemies with it and ammo is common to come by.
Recently I played warcraft 3 campaigns on the hardest difficulty and it was a nice challenge for me. But now I don't know what to play next. Maybe I will replay an other game.
I really want to buy some games I missed from last year like witcher 3, fallout 4, and dark souls 3 from this year to get my Action rpg fix, but I don't have the money for it.
That's awesome. Resident Evil has been synonymous with the Playstation, but Gamecube is the definitive platform for the series. I still need to track down a copy of Resident Evil 2. True, emulators are cool, but they just don't feel right, I'd rather have the console and controllers to get that "authentic feel". I have a Gamecube, but I play cube games on the Wii through a component HD cable, the picture quality is cleaner. I'm playing the game as Chris Redfield, I'll end up playing as Jill Valentine when I try the game on hard difficulty. Yeah, I use the shotgun as my primary weapon and stock up on pistol rounds whenever I find any lying around. I found the magnum, real useful for more powerful enemies.
Nice, it's good to play through the same game again and again. I completed Sonic Adventure loads of times! :) I have Fallout 4 for Xbox One, but packed the console away because I've fallen out with the Xbox brand. The most recent game I've played is Doom on PC, still need to make progress with that ^^;
Oh you played Doom too? Cool! I tried the demo on the ps4 and knew that I will need to hunt down a copy of that game as well in a future sale:)
Really need to get off my butt and play the new Fallout 4 DLCs, been hearing good things about 'em
I have Fallout 4 on Xbox One. Unfortunately I really hate the Xbox One, so haven't had a chance to enjoy the game ^^; The DLCs sound really cool!
Do you remember when Xbox One was announced? All that rubbish about DRM, having to keep the Xbox connected to the internet 24/7 and that creepy business with the kinect? Microsoft did a complete U-turn on all those policies because people didn't want any of it. God forbid if Microsoft had it their way. I haven't forgotten, I can see Microsoft for what they are now and just can't turn a blind eye to what they tried to do to console gaming. Oh, and I still can't believe Lionhead doesn't exist anymore RIP Fable.
I bought an Xbox One with a copy of Rayman Legends, Sunset Overdrive and... "Destiny" *shudders* I really tried to like it, but I just hate it. I've always been an Xbox fan from the very beginning, I used to think they were the bee's knees and Halo is still amazing. But this time Microsoft have lost my loyalty to the Xbox brand. They've brought out Xbox One S (which is an improvement), but it's too late now.
Most things across the industry just annoy me. Among other things, I find it strange that games don't come with manuals anymore. There's no weight, It's like spending 50 pounds on an empty box with air in it XD
Sorry for the rant ^^;
