I'm working on getting a new Rx, but it is a HUGE pain in the ass. Because I'm on all these crazy opioids and shit I have to hop through a bunch of hoops. I live 2 hours away from my specialist (long story), and the legality of the opioids requires me to physically walk into the office to pick up the 'scrip, then physically bring it to the pharmacy. No faxing or calling in or sending someone to pick it up. Without my painkillers, car rides are a bitch. So I'm like "shit shit I hurt I need pills! Time to get in the car; I'll just take one of my pi- " and then frowny face.
I called the office today, and I'm going to get a callback sometime during the week to approve my request and get an appointment. Until then, I'm stuck drinking cough syrup. Urf.

Wow, that is incredibly shitty. I had no idea they couldn't allow someone to do that AT ALL... what about elderly patients who are like, bed ridden? Sounds as if you practically are, some of the time. D: I guess they expect if you're super bad off someone must have power of attorney over you/guardianship/whatever so then they can do it... instead of an independent adult with health issues. Because that never happens!

Are you able to take showers or baths at all? If you can't stand, if your shower isn't too tiny maybe you could put some sort of chair in there... though maybe sitting hurts, too, since it does put pressure on your spine. Geez, it's like... living is hurt-y. D:

I can take showers as long as I have either a. painkillers b. muscle relaxers c. time and (at worst) d. help. The nature of the hot water really helps me move past the pain when I have to be reaching up and back, and loofas on sticks are the most helpful inventions ever. I spend a lot of my shower time sitting on the floor of the tub, and sometimes I'll stop the drain so I have a sort of shower/bath combo going at the same time. Necessity is the mother of invention, and showerbaths are the easiest way for me to get clean quickly. My god, I sound absolutely pathetic. I swear I'm a lot more able than I sound!

LOL, I dunno, I do the shower/bath thing just because I like to, so you doesn't sound SO bad, I suppose. :d
