idea: commissions for books?

i use the dark theme, therefore my profile and journals cater to it. i apologize if it's difficult to read in the light theme, though i did try to use colors that would be easily visible on either; however, if you can't, highlighting the text should provide enough contrast to read it :3 so i had an idea just pop into my head. i've seen that ko-fi or whatever thing floating around for a bit, which is a neat idea, but i don't drink coffee, and i don't care to ask for donations. however, i love reading. loooooooooooove reading. but i'm flat broke and can't afford to buy books anymore, and the less-than-legitimate methods to read books are understandably limited. (plus, i like physical books better than ebooks). so anyways, the idea:
cheap commissions for the cost of a book. i'm not sure if i'd have a list of desired books, or maybe just genres i like, i haven't gotten that far yet. but they'd either be about $10, or an actual book. (i.e., the commissioner mails me the book, or buys it online and has it shipped to me, etc.). i haven't figured out what kind of art i'd offer for them yet (since currently the only thing i have in that price range is portraits, and no one wants those lol). maybe i could have various options, and better art for sets or something i dunno.
anyways, i'm rambling and my thoughts are all over the place right now. so, what do you think of the idea? good, bad? would you be interested in something like that? do you think it'd be cool to be able to mail me some of your old books and get some art in return? ok, i'm gonna end this now, before i get too excited. comments appreciated as always!
