Just another "I'm still around!" post
Hadn't posted anything in a while, so figured I would. Nothing out of the ordinary, just been busy with RL stuff. Although I don't have anything YET, I still have a few items in various stages of completion including: the next episode of Critters (of course), a new av piccie, a Halloween pic, a new music pic, and maybe even a rather naughty pic of April, depending.
Why the lag in output? Because I have a life away from the keyboard. I'm a Corporate America wage slave M-F, get home about 5:30-6 depending on whether I stay extra to work on my little copier scrap operation...minus time to make dinner, eat dinner and clean up after dinner (no mechanical dishwasher for us, just human power), and I have about 1.5 to maybe 2 hours max in the evening to do whatever - be it shopping, errand-running, gas-running, lawn-cutting or parent-visiting. Or, I'm simply too tired by then and not feeling creative enough to draw. Friday nights from spring until fall, I like to get Betty out and hang out with either my cruise-in car pals or my indie alt-rock music snob pals for free concerts downtown.
On Saturdays, my wife and I sleep in...and usually a great deal more than that which I'm not at liberty to discuss (we're bunnies - you can figure it out). By the time we're up and eaten and ready for the day, it could be 2 or even 3 in the afternoon. Then comes the weekly house-cleaning. We lived like utter slobs when we lived in an apt. before we got married. Now that we got a house that we like in a neighborhood that we like, we like to keep it up, savvy? And guess who pretty much does all the cleaning? Yep, that would be me. Whatever time I have in the late afternoon I usually spend taking care of the stuff that I couldn't get done during the week. Or, we'll go out in the evening for a night out (which we'll be doing as long as we're able to until kids come along).
Sundays start off the same as Saturdays, and usually wind up with the same itinerary. In the evening I like to unwind and shut things down early, and start thinking about bedtime when 9pm rolls around.
Come Monday, repeat the cycle.
So, there you have it. I'll get artwork done when I can, but that art time also competes against my car show/cruise-in time, CW re-enacting time, model railroad time, music time and going out time. Live is too short to stay cooped up inside hunched over a desk or in front of a glowing screen. I prefer to spend mine making the most out of the pre-kid time I have left.

When I'm not being such a ragin' Cajun liberal there, I really need to get back to my drawing table. I came SOOOOOO close last weekend! Had it near the top of my list of prime objectives, as a matter of fact. Alas, housecleaning and cleaning out gutters and getting Betty exercise just took too much time. I really hate adulting, but whataya gonna do?
