Speaking of why I shouldn't be socializing...
This YCH thing really bugs me. I wonder if you understand that it's just absolute laziness and completely inhuman. I mean, come on. What is art? Expression of emotion, communication from the soul. It's human, uniquely so. But what do you do with it? You artists forgo the interaction with your patrons and admirers by offering premade ideas and for which you seek paying customers to do no more than to dictate your pallet of colors. And you who buy such art: you aren't buying art, you are buying control over the colors on a pretty picture that has absolutely no meaning or even tangible value and is therefore not art.
You are both being utterly lazy, and depriving yourself of the process by which actual art is created.
YCH then, is shameful. And the fandom, if it was about art, OR community, would shame it out of existence.
So what does it tell you that it isn't, that YCH is accepted?
Well, it parallels what's wrong with America, actually. Your acceptance of YCH is because you support it. And while you may say you don't, your failure to do anything about it is in fact your support, just as your failure to hold police accountable is responsible for the culture of impunity. In just two years, I had 5 LA County Sheriffs officered fired, seriously. They all pulled their badges and/or guns on me while they were off duty in road rage incidents. I've had other cops fired and disciplined in the past. But my point is that you have never done this, no one does this anymore. You are so afraid of the police that they will literally get away with murder because they know you won't do a damn thing.
And YCH exists, to cheapen and destroy both art and community in the fandom, because you are afraid of the trolls who would accuse you of "drama" or whatever bullshit pressure they use to keep their degredation of the fandom going strong.
Take a fucking stand against everything that's wrong for once in your life, and stop being a herd-minded pussy.
Or just give up and leave the country. Hell, come join me, if you can learn not to be selfish that is.
