I feel conflicted...

Conflicted about what?

About being a Christian furry. On one hand I feel like it's okay. But on the other where is the line crossed? I'm sure everyone has their opinions. I just feel like I have this inner conflict about it. I enjoy drawing furry art, including the porn stuff. But in being a Christian, is that wrong? I just don't know. I have mixed emotions and I'm not sure how I should feel. Not sure what to do.

I could offer you some advice and suggestions for how to think about that topic, if you're interested. Ultimately neither I or anyone else can decide what is right for you personally but we can perhaps be a guide.

I personally think the porn is a bit of a line crosser myself. It aligns up there with the fornicators and sexual impurity in my opinion. Sex itself is not anything to be ashamed of for certain, but it should be kept within the secret bindings of marriage. If it is porn shared between you and your spouse with the sole intent for it to depict you and your spouse, I think that is a different beast all together. I personally will not partake in drawing porn for others because in my mind, that is enabling them to continue to stumble. A tl;dr version of what I'm saying is to ask yourself "would Jesus do this?" If your answer is no, and I believe there needs to be a definitive yes or no, then stopping may be the best course of action to take.

As far as whether or not being a furry is ok or not ok I think you need to look at your reasoning behind being part of the fandom. Think of it like this. You can like a thing...say a movie character...and it's ok. But when you being to worship that movie character like an idol and put him above God, then it ceases to become ok. I believe there is a need for Christians amongst the furry community. How can we hope to reach out to the those without Christ if there is nothing we can relate to them on? The fandom to me is no different than say the Star Trek fandom. Yes, there are the rule 34s amongst even the Trekkies, but the Christian Trekkies know what parts of the fandom to stay away from. I believe the same is true for the furry community.

I recommend you think very long and very deeply about the true reason you call yourself a furry. What are your motives? Is it just the furry art you enjoy or is it something else that's deeper than that?

Thank you for taking the time to write all that. I'll definitely be doing some thinking. Though I'm sure the reason I like being a furry is the cute art and having a fursona seems fun. The innocence of when I first was a furry seems to have spiraled into a deeper part of the fandom.

I had read the previous journal earlier this week, and honestly felt very sad to see the owner want to take leave. However, right now my biggest regret is not being able to note them myself to simply tell them how much I appreciated the talks we had in the past and the attention they gave me. I would have loved to speak to them one last time, but nonetheless, i'll look forward to seeing new updates and topics from this page in the future. Hope things go well for everyone.

Great article. More belivers need to come to that conclusion. The stories you hear about unbelievers coming to Christ after witnessing a beliver friend practice Christianity are uncommon. It's not enough to "walk the walk".

I think it may have been a poor choice to use an article that compares "unregenerate sinners" to cockroaches. I don't think it is good or effective evangelism to belittle the unsaved and talk about them in dehumanizing terms.

What could be said about the community is a trivial question, and I'm glad this exists, because I believe it isn't wrong to be a furry, as long as your standards are God's Standards.

I was saddened to read the last post by JP and his experiences that led to his decision. The fandom does have plenty of members that feel ostracized by the world at large and they look at the fandom as a place to let loose and do whatever. But I know there are other members that enjoy intelligent conversation and pondering life's biggest questions the way JP was describing.

You absolutely can be both Christian and a furry, but agreed with Omega that porn crosses the line.

Welcome! I'm glad to see the community will still be going strong. I hope the original owner finds where Christ is leading them, even if it is away from us. I am also glad to see Jude stepping in to keep the page going. It means so much that I have a support system in the fandom. The fandom, in which I've found myself called to to spread Christ's love. There are so many seeking it here.
