Is it me, or do some artists feel impossible to commission?

Sometimes, someone just has to say it
Once again, no names dropped. There are some really good artists out there anymore, one's who turned art into their career. There are all these platforms to aid them I their business, like patron, trello, and ect. Fa has given them commissions tabs and tools to aid them and their customers.
So why does it feel like for some artists, even getting a slot seems impossible? For me, nothing was more simple than posting a journal about opening and people calling for a slot. A lot of artists do this and I see a steady flow of art from them.
But now, there's the really good artists, the cut above the rest, the...inconsistent, the rare to commission, the patreon addicts where the only way to get a commission is to play chance every month with a subscription to them. The streamers who just throw out a dice and pick a random person, the ones who are so busy with everything else that even if you get a commission, could take months.
It's nothing against the artists that do this, but I really feel like all these aids for the artists, really put the customers on the back burner. Ours a real limit on availability. It isn't a price thing, but I really don't like having to jump through hoops just to get art, suppose that is why I'm not commissioning much anymore, a lot of my "to commission" artists, feel like a pipe dream, where 4 years ago, before I could afford them, they were a machine pumping out art and opening twice a month. I miss those days v.v

Really, I'm cool with being told that they don't wanna. That's their prerogative. I wish they'd do it when they want to, though, instead of keeping me hanging on indefinitely. Some promised to get back to me and jut forgot. I'm sure most of them don't do it knowlingly, or on purpose .... the result still is the same. And it's a bit of a gamble if sending a reminder is actually helping or not.
The ones that really get my goat are those who demand payment right away, and then take years, yes years, to get your commission done. Worse yet when they rub salt into the wounds by taking and completing newer works ahead of you. They forget that it's no longer a hobby once money is exchanged.
