So.... Had Hard Drive checked.
....I have TWO options.
- Get it sent to a lab to open it up and fix it (maybe):costs 500€ to 600€Correction: 750€ to 1500€ + 150€ for new harddrive.
- Get a refund, lose all data (Including pics of last dinner with deceased grandma, years of work, everything.): Costs: 50€ for new harddrive + Many years of work and memories.
I ain't popular enough for shit like GoFundMe or donations. And I can't fix it myself. Now to figure out a way to explain to my mom she won't ever see those important, one of a kind photos again.
I'll be honest... I'm not doing well at all. I feel sick and exhausted and I just.... Can't deal with this anymore. I'm done.

Could you ask if they could fix it, those who sold it to you in the first place, instead of a refund?
Looking into things atm. Not starting a GoFundMe.. People need it for more dire situations.
What is your drive diagnosed as having an issue with? If its stuck heads you can unstick them manually by opening the cover and giving them a slight lift/push with a plastic tool. If the controller board is at issue it may take someone with soldering skills but can be done for about $200-250.
Watch this video, very informative on fixing the heads. Also shows good software (HD Tune) to use for help with your drive.
