So...work was interesting today. Not too far away from my office, there's a condominium. About 46 floors high. And we all watched today as a woman hung over the edge of her 26th floor balcony, police in nearby units trying to coerce her from the ledge. This went on for a tense 4 hours before she finally made her decision and jumped. We watched as she plummeted to the ground, a bloodcurdling shriek was all that could be heard above the sound of traffic, and in a moment it was all over.

Apparently she had been struggling with crippling depression for a long time, according to the people who knew her. She was dead on impact. We watched, the fall felt like hours. It really makes you think about how quickly it can all end.

Such a sad ending to someone's story.

Wish you would step back from that ledge, my friend. I'll never forget what I witnessed today.
