welp.... now i got age restricted on this site -n-

so after reciving a note that a admin sent deciding that i didnt have a "18" in my age even though im "17" (which isnt a big diffrence, as i do like adult stuff and 18 shouldnt be the OFFICIAL ADULT age). and they "mature lock" me for 11 months, dispite me being able to make a NEW account for veiwing that stuff =n=;'

so i guess i wont be posting any adult stuff for the next 3 days-11 months because this site is fucked up when you wanna do something =n=.
anf FUCK THEM they removed my adult stuff as well, you gotta love how they dont even warn you before doing it so you can save them for another time when the "mature lock" ends but nope, i guess its a dictator ship -n-

sorry guys but im just too pissed off now to think right, as i am damn tired that the number 18 means your a mature/adult =n= even if your 17 that means to others that your not a "mature" person

unfortunately FA is based in the US where the legal age of adulthood is 18. It's antiquated I should say, but there would have to be a change in laws to make the law of adulthood something like 16 (probably a better legal age, but I dunno)

yes true, or even the "mature" part 16 (which i thought it was but i guess you cant even be a mature 16 year old for our laws)

but i might make a new "adult" profile so i dont have to worry about this damn thing =~=;

Be careful tho, making a new account could put you under rule or ban avoidal and have you completly shut off from fa and ip banned

mhh, i guess your right on that, though i still find it insulting that im not even considered in a "mature" age, which were i live 16 is the mature age, and 18 is the adult age, but i guess FA can be dictators over that so meh

Fa is by law having to follow where there servers are based, which is american soil, where the rules are 18 years old, they have to abide by this or have their servers taken down, sadly but thats the case for them

im just confused on why im not considered a "mature" human being even though im 16 (which the state i live at "illinios") has it to were when you hit 16 your able to view mature stuff, but i guess what state the servers of FA are running at have it to were its mature and adult only at 18

I am nooot sure where the FA servers are located but they have to follow the regulations of 18 years where they are, they have no choice on it, they are not allowed to show 18+ content to people under the age of 18 knowingly, by law they could get prosecuted for that, it does not stop them from showing the content to people who have not proclaimed to be under yet are under, aslong as the staff is unaware of them being under the age, however if they have suspicions they can refuse content until proof have been provided, which would in their case, be your drivers licenses or other identification

Uh, yeah, if you're under 18 then regardless of location you must abide by FA rules. They're in the USA, which sets the age of being considered an adult as 18. Therefore you'll have to wait until you turn 18. Don't make another account or try to bypass it in any way otherwise you could get banned, and I don't want to see that happen. Just wait it out and be courteous.

I have always thought they should make the Mature tag available to those who are 16 and keep the adult stuff locked for those who are 18, (like it is on Weasyl) but that's just not how it works here sadly. I sent you a skype message with some advice in general, but nevertheless I wouldn't worry too much about it. *hugs* Think of happy things like being nommed~

They're probably just covering all their bases, since some posters tend to misinterpret what's "mature" and what's "adult" differently, so by restricting both they're limiting the amount of "mature rated that should be adult rated" stuff from slipping through.

still, whats the point then on having the "mature" setting then if you have to be 18 for both of them, why not only have "safe, and adult" as mature seems to be usless if you still have to be 18 for BOTH of them, like awhile back when i turned 16 people said i was able to view mature art and was able to draw it, but now i guess that was a big lie.

My guess would be that it perhaps changed at some point. Or both exist as a technicality more than anything. Particularly if somebody uses thumbnails, and the border can give the viewer a bit more clear idea of what to expect.

Yeah I know how you feel. They have extremely dicky content rules- I got permission to show game-screenshots and they said "Nope! Too bad!".

On another note- there are so many people with their ages set to 18 or higher, who are way younger than you, and post "mature" art. Yet they get away with it.

I tried to get them to remove the filter long ago, but they declined. Not the worst of FA's decisions by far though x3
