Ukimori: A semi-open species?

So I've been thinking about this quite a while now;.. should I make the Ukimori species open or semi-open?
They've been a closed species since I created them, but I've been curious if I made them semi-open for people to make (non-canon) Ukimori characters, would anyone actually be interested?

Normally this is the kind of thing I wouldn't gauge interest for; however I was thinking, if people are interested I might make a ukimori character creator. Time is limited, so if no one is interested, there's probably no reason to invest so much time in a character creator x3
So please let me know your thoughts <3

Personally, yeah, Id sure be interesting in making a Character based off your Species!
I wanna say make it Semi-Open, but Im not sure if that will create limitations for people that would wanna get invested. But yeah, I love the idea.

I know with my Glaives, a fair number of people commission me to make them a Glaive wyvern. :P
So in the short yes I would be quite intrested if you made them an open species!
I can understand why people would want a closed species, as it a part of their IP. But in the end closing a species off can stifle the free exchange of ideas and creativity.
I see both sides, but I think in the end allowing a species to be used non-canonically is usually better because if you can't really stop people, you might as well open it up and still have more control over it in terms of how it fits in into the community.

And yes, i took inspiration from the japanese word for bat, Kōmori.

As Phrixus says above, UV is the only Ukimori for me. ^.^
That said.. you created them, it's up to you!
Is there a demand by people to make characters from them?
Personally, I think they're cool characters, and if someone wants one, then it's very kind from you. (maybe one day I'll draw one :) )
I'd say as long as the characters stay private, AKA avatar or fursona or whatever one will call him/her, it's perfect. The only thing, if it was me, I wouldn't allow Ukimori YCH's and whatever thing only make for profit, because it's the internet and you know how a community like this one works, you always have some morons around it (having an Ukimori character and commissioning a skilled artist to draw him/her is fair game, though).
I'd go Semi open, sorry but I refuse to ever go on twitter (I'm not saying it's bad at all!) so can't vote officially, heh!
