Although there's no better replacement for Furaffnity's mass community, I've been considering the alternatives other people have used. Weasyl looks good but doesn't have much community, Furry Network I completely lost interest in, Deviantart isn't that useful for me at this point - what else? Well, thanks in part to  Neko-maya informing about the existence of SoFurry, I'm joining there and making this a secondary, if hopefully growing presence for myself.
