My Anthem
This is a song I grew up to like while I was in the Mormon Church. Even though I am no longer active in the Church, this song is my anthem, if you can call it that. Sometimes, being outside our comfort zone(s) in the service of our fellow creatures, great and small- rewards us in ways we never thought possible, in the long term. It is my hope and prayer that your hearts be warmed as you reflect this songs' meaning, as it ALWAYS does mine, and recharges my innermost soul.
Because I have been given much, I too must give.
Because of thy great bounty, each day I live.
I shall divide my gifts from thee with every brother that I see,
who has the need of help from me.
Because I have been sheltered, fed by thy good care...
I cannot see another's lack and I not share-
my glowing fire, my loaf of bread-my roof's safe shelter over head,
that he too may be comforted.
Because I have been blessed by thy great love dear Lord,
I'll share thy love again according to thy word.
I shall give love to those in need. I'll show that love by word and deed,
thus shall my thanks be thanks indeed.

Yeah, I left the Church officially in 1999. Just didn't seem to fit in, me being gay and all. And getting more and more political. I still have a membership, so it's safe to say that I am very much inactive. But I still respect their beliefs.
