That really sucks though, man. Normally when it's copyright-related, even false copyrights, there tends to be an email notification. If there wasn't any notice, there might be a way to appeal to have it restored?

Here's what I think happened: Some spiteful knob doesn't like you and decided to report you to tumblr for violating some rule, and the monkeys disguising themselves as staff decided to believe them and terminated your account. Very disappointing stuff indeed.

If Tumblr took down my account I'd leave it be and never look back. I have a lot of disdain for that site, or at least for the sort of non-communication that the site's design enforces. I just want to share art (it's really awful as an art site but sharing can be nice, and it's at least better than Twitter in that there's no restriction and you can set up tags and art blogs and pages and such that make it better) and enjoy goofy stuff but the political circlejerks make my blood boil. The sharing of misinformation, the bullying and dogpiling against people who have the much more reasonable and defensible opinion, the acceptance of awful arguments, and the fact that you have to single yourself out as one of very few people who disagrees (because anyone else on your side of the argument gave up or they're only sharing a version where they did 'win') just to speak your mind on it, makes Tumblr an incredibly oppressive platform if you don't totally fall in line with the prevalent way of thinking.

Even just trying to use it casually to share cool and silly junk and occasionally post art, the atmosphere around there (especially lately with election junk) is just toxic.
