Yes they're just a funny little gimmick and usually don't offer anything beyond ambiguous advice.
But having just eaten my bodyweight in Chinese© Food and opened up two of the many, many fortune cookies we were given with the takeaway the second one had me intrigued.
The first was the very thing I opened this journal with, offering ambiguous, non-specific advice. The second however caught me somewhat off guard:
"An unexpected visitor will bring good news you have been waiting for."
In my experience, unexpected visitors (or heck even expected ones) often bring bad news or something you didn't want to hear. If anything this simply peaked my interest and got me thinking...about what? I'm not entirely sure, but caught me off guard nonetheless.
