L.A. ComicCon
Just went to the L.A. Comic con this past weekend. Boy, am I ever out of the comic scene! First of all, it was wall-to-wall people, many in costume and quite a few in cosplay outfits. Got into the convention around 10:30 and decided to start from the O area and just wander up and down the aisles just looking at all the displays and stuff. The highlight of the day there was that I got to meet Lance Henrickson (Bishop / Mr. Weyland / Father in Pumpkinhead)
I was standing in the line where they had a mock-up of the loader and an alien where you could get a picture of yourself with one or the other or both. While standing in the line one of the ushers asked if anyone there was just going to see 1 of the signers and I put my hand up for that. Got taken to the front of the line, and then went to see Bishop. He's quite amicable and friendly, got an autographed picture of him, and chatted with him for about 10 minutes before someone else got in the line.
I also found that Gigi Egeley (sp?) was there also in another area. She happened to be out at the moment, so I went and had lunch (expensive). Came back and was able to get an autographed pic of her... and a few personal shots with her. She also was fun to talk to. I also saw Checkov/Bester and Uhura, but didn't get to meet with them.
Found out that Tandy Leather is still in business (whoo!)... and a couple of vendors who I've seen up north during the highland games in Pleasanton.
