Now is the time to become politically active.

I know a lot of us are hurting.
This election cycle brought out the absolute worst parts of our country. It boiled them up to the surface and projected them on televisions across the nation…and then acted like it was all completely fine and normal. That saying horrible things about women, minorities, and immigrants is part of The American Way. That a person who goes into Twitter tirades at 3 in the morning is perfectly eligible to be in charge of an entire nation.
This guy, openly endorsed by the KKK, about to go on trial for a child rape case, who avoided taxes and bankrupt other people to enrich himself, who used charity money to buy a portrait of himself to hang in one of his restaurants, SOMEHOW became a serious contender for the President of the United States. And, at the time of writing, unless a few key states suddenly swing for Clinton, we’re looking at a President Trump in 2017.
For an unfortunately large number of people, Trump’s election might be seen as a symbol of validation, that hateful rhetoric and open deception are acceptable, that their hate for women, LGBT individuals, minorities, and much more are on point. I have zero doubt that harassment and violence will go up after this.
But don’t despair. Please.
I know the urge to drop ship and flee to Canada is very real. But our country wasn’t founded to be a stone wall forever. It was built to change and grow. The American system gives power to the people. Those of us who want to make our voices heard to the government will have an outlet to do so, somewhere, sometime. There’s far more to the government than just the President. As Bernie Sanders was saying, we need to take initiative into local elections too. WE need to put ourselves out there as the new political leaders.
And that goes beyond simply being in positions of power too. We need to form more organizations that help our communities, that educate our youth on their rights and freedoms, that ensure future generations have all the tools they’ll need to work within our system.
We can’t rely on 60 year old politicians to save us anymore. We have to be the new politicians. We can’t be complacent with just reblogging and retweeting support for causes. We have to fight tooth and nail, through courts and Congress, for our rights. If we’re not there representing our communities and struggles, who will be?
We can do this, but only if we stand together for the long haul. It’s not going to be easy, and we’re not always going to know who to turn to when things get rough. It’s our future, our environment, our children, our friends and family that are on the line as of tonight. Let’s fight for them.

* political assassination, leaving Pence in charge.
* hoping that we have a true inversion where Trump has to deal with a staunchly defiant Democratic Congress. Though that just typifies the very death of the Republic Trump's threats were should Hillary win.
* Hillary somehow comes ahead of Trump
* Enough interest in abolishing the Electoral College that something actually gets done about it.
But that's never gonna happen because *insert hour-long tirade about the 1%*.
In short, Trump's presidency promises to be uniquely horrible, especially for us queers. :/
But of course, you just wanted "free" healthcare that has destroyed millions of American's health plans and made it a tax if you didn't have any healthcare. You wanted "free" tuition that would've been put back on taxes that the middle class can't afford. You wanted "free" birth contraception devices instead of not having sex. Nothing is free as it comes from the tax payers who work their asses off every day only to have their money through high taxes go to ungrateful shits such as yourself.
I'm gay, sunshine. And my partner and I have been planning to get married once I finish my PhD in cognitive science and AI (fyi that's science, champ) in a few years, even while a bunch of reactionary bigots are trying to make it so that my partner and I have to go back in the closet and want it so that we can't even be together. The rest of the western world has been moving forward on queer rights, and America was finally catching up, but nooooo, faggots gotta go! And trannies, too, fuck them and their hormones and genitals!
Oh yeah, and fetuses aren't people. Much love. <3
Show me where in the constitution that the supreme court has the right to make or change laws and not just enforce them because clearly the congress only has the right to make or change laws with the supreme courts job is to enforce the law. Notice how the supreme court said obamacare was absolute law and they were not the founders of said such law. Their job was to read and decide if obamacare was a law and if it was so, to inform the people that it is a law.
Good for you? So we have to cater to the less then 1% of American's to make them happy changing what this great country was founded on by Christian values? Guess what cupcake, that is not how the world works. If you are so interested in signalling your relationship to the next level, there is a thing called a civil union where in a sense, considered married without getting the benefits of marriage. Oh yes, btw, there is an active gay conservative by the name of Milo Yiannopoulos who is a flaming homo who not only voted for Trump, but actively opposes gay marriage. Is he some sort of bigot? But to get to your point of having to go back in the closet, no one is forcing you to go back in it unless you want to, we don't need to change our ways to appease the less than 1%. Yup, the rest of the world is moving forward with gay rights like the middle east where they throw gays off of buildings. You totally got me there with how progressive the rest of the world is moving. Or Russia where Putin clearly is the champion of gay rights. Do you know how stupid you sound on that poit alone. I don't remember hearing anything about faggots and trannies needing to leave the US, only about not shoving stupid shit down our throats. Fetuses are people and sadly you're okay with killing people.
Love and tolerance.
And since you seem to be mistaken about the supreme court, they did not pass any laws per se, they ruled that it's unconstitutional to bar marriage for specific groups, struck down the remaining state-level bans on same-sex marriage in light of that interpretation. That is quite literally the opposite of passing a law.
Thanks for telling me that Canada, Finland, and so many European nations aren't moving forward on gay rights! Man, it's almost like the western world is a specific idea! Also love the religious discrimination you're spouting. Half my family is Muslim, for the record, despite my faggot ass being an atheist that was raised a Lutheran.
Clearly you read very carefully all my points about religions, religious favouritism, and religious denominations. And yeah, news flash, there are Muslims and Muslim groups that think queer rights should be allowed. Mind-blowing, eh? Just like the Christian groups and denominations that want to stone us to death. Or the ones (gaining power) that just prefer to electrocute and "cure" us.
And I do appreciate you using homophobic slurs against me, not to mention slandering a good half of my family. Such loving kindness from you, clearly you aren't bigoted at all. As long as someone isn't actively being killed or tortured, they're okay, so they oughta shut up! Be sure to tell racial minorities and women that fact, too.
I watch a channel about corruption in China, and Canada is said to be slowly getting closer to it. I might be misunderstanding a few things, but offering refuge to corrupt leaders of the CCP is something that worries me.
I'm not going to get into an argument about fake child porn, it never goes anywhere.

Let's see, there were massive protest and violence last night alone in many cities with welfare recipients taking to the street in protest that lying killary who is a murder btw, didn't win. Notice on how when obama was illegally elected with massive voter fraud, that republican's didn't riot and do any sort of protest after the election, but went to work since they had to make a living as protesting now won't change anything. You said he has hate for women, even though he hasn't said anything hateful about women short of what all men talk about in the locker room compared to hilary who got a rapist free from going to jail by saying the victim enjoyed the fantasy and idea of being raped. Not to mention contemned all the women who were sexually assaulted by her husband and called them liars even though Bill was getting a blowjob from Monica in the oval office. The only minorities he hates are those that are lazy welfare queens and illegal immigrants. Rightfully so, welfare queens contribute nothing to society and are too fat and lazy to work forcing hard working American's to be over taxed in order for the government to give these people money. Illegal immigrants broke the law and should be deported immediately. Legal immigrants actually came here legally and want to assimilate, get jobs, pay taxes, etc. He has nothing with legal immigrants but only with illegal immigrants. By open deception, you do mean all the open deception from hilary in terms on how she said she could only manage one device and didn't have a private server yet she had multiple devices and a private email server with classified information. And that's not just all that's wrong with hilary and the deception and hate filled stuff coming from her. The fascist movement known as the lgtbquzkeklolbbqwtf movement where if you don't bake a cake, you can be sued for it instead of you know, finding another bakery who would do it will be coming to an end. Also note that less the 1% of America is actually part of the fascist movement so Trump becoming president barely does anything towards the hate filled speech from that movement. And you know that hilary didn't support that movement with obama stating that marriage is between a man and a woman. Although the record also shows that hilary was getting money from governments that kill gays on site, so not sure why you liked her over someone who used his own money and not from a corrupt foundation.
To say nothing of how Trump supporters have been calling for us non-whites to be treated like second-class citizens, laughing about concentration camps, and hell, even the KKK and nativist, white supremacist groups have been flocking to the GOP in order to usher in a new order free of the scourge of non-whites sullying the racial purity of the great white America.
I've been called a sand nigger, a raghead, a faggot, and worse, and I've had your people threaten my life and livelihood, and here you sit spewing a bunch of ignorant and flat out false bullshit about rigged elections (never happened) and demented conspiracy theories and blowing those racist dogwhistles about inner cities and welfare. And pretending like Obama and Clinton would've kept same-sex marriage while Trump and his beloved gay-kid-electrocuting Mike Pence aren't talking a lot about how they're gonna undo everything that happened under the Obama administration, right down to overturning Obergefell v. Hodges.
Oh look, voter fraud http://www.desmoinesregister.com/st.....ines/92892042/. Would you like me to find more articles on voter fraud this election or during obama's election? Oh look, more voter fraud http://www.snopes.com/politics/ball...../2012fraud.asp and there's even articles on election officials going to jail because of it. Oh no, you were called names that you don't want to be called. It's called getting the fuck over it cupcake. I was called, homophobic, racist, sexist, misogynist, and stuff like that. Guess what? I got over it. Do you really want me to post links on how even obama and clinton both described marriage as between a man and a woman? I've already posted links to two such cases of voter fraud so far. At this point, I have destroyed your argument. Also, the biggest thing that will go of obama's legacy was the disastrous socialized medicine known as obamacare which is costing the middle class more money then they have.
And need I point out to you the huge disparities in voting patterns along racial lines, with minorities favouring the Democrats by a strong margin? Maybe the fact that the Republicans have vigorously opposed non-discrimination laws, attacked anything that attempts to remedy racial disparities, and opposed the ERA, while Semocrats supported all that? Or perhaps the fact that Obama and Clinton came out in favour of same-sex marriage and Democrats historically win huge majorities among us queers, while Republicans talk about overturning same-sex marriage, ending non-discrimination laws, and restricting access to gender transitioning for trans people?
Also lol at telling me about the failures of public healthcare when I come from Finland originally and live in Canada at the moment. Oh yes, the public healthcare system has truly failed me miserably.
