There's this guy on wrestling named Roman Reigns whom the fans hate because they know that WWE management likes him and they can't stand to like anything they think the "establishment" wants them to like. Basically the same thing happened to Hillary Clinton. Most left-wingers who claim to hate her don't even fully know why other than that they feel like they're part of some movement that nobody cares about anymore because we elected the racist instead (For non-white-straight-male types, that's going to be kind of a problem, believe it or not) just to show how anti establishment we could be. Similar to how we all got a main event at Wrestlemania 32 that nobody really wanted as a direct result of the fans refusing to give Reigns a chance because the internet told them not to.

You may be correct that this will force the DNC to run a less tone-deaf campaign next time, but just keep in mind that it was never realistic to hope for the country to turn into one big Phish concert in the course of one election cycle. The ironic consequence of the failure to realize that is four years (at least) of the systematic dehumanization of all types of social minorities. Which has little to do with Trump himself and more to do with the Republican congress behind him.

Despite popular opinion, 100% idealism doesn't solve worldly issues. As annoying as it is, you need a pinch or two of realism thrown in there.

oh I know why I hate hillary. it's a long list and I'm short on time. if anything I made trump happen knowing the mainstream republicans would stab him in the back when he won and that's happening right now. in the time since I wrote this journal I've given up on the DNC let them slip into the obscurity the british labor party has sunk thanks to corbyn I got no dog in the fight. the only party I can stand even remotely in this country is so obscure they didn't even make a percentage point
