no respect for the man who encourages and incites violence against marginalized peoples; who wants to deport, ban, or imprison myself and the people i love; whose rape accusations number in the double digits and who then had the gall to call undocumented immigrants rapists; who has no qualifications for even being in the office in any way, and who should realistically be in jail. no respect for his vp, who donated money to conversion therapy. no respect for those who supported them.
no respect for racists.
no respect for homophobes.
no respect for transphobes.
no respect for misogynists.
no respect for bigots.
no respect for ableists.
no respect for fascists.
the election is over; now we resist.
but we expected that, either way. we were given no good options. this is never over, and it's never easy. but we'll survive. we'll keep going, just like we always have. just like we've always had to.
get involved. support each other. practice solidarity. protect people less privileged than you. fight. organize. start now.
because this isn't over. this is just beginning. now the work starts.

I woke up this morning and my house wasn't on fire yet. Drove into town, it was still intact and has not been reduced to rubble. Yet. But I could not help but notice discontent and semi-repressed hostility permeating from every townsperson I chanced to encounter. Something is not right. Something has changed. As if everyone was impatiently waiting around for something. Post election anxiety, I suppose. What's next now that open oppression and prejudice towards the marginalized have been given an air of legitimacy and the federal seal of approval to act upon? We are in a place where spirits get eaten. Protect your spirit.
