Subaru has unveiled the Subaru VIZIV-7 SUV Concept in LA. The vehicle previews how the company’s all-new three-row midsize SUV could look like, which, if all goes according to brand’s plan should arrive on the North American market in early 2018.
According to Subaru, the concept is demonstrating “how big a future Subaru SUV can be.” And given to its dimensions, which measures 204.7 inches (5.2 m) in length, 79.9 inches (2 m) in width and 72 inches (1.8 m) in height, it’s pretty big. With the wheelbase of 117.7 inches (3 m), the concept is some 15 inches (38 cm) longer than the current Outback.
Visually the Viziv-7 SUV looks reminds of the current Outback, but in the larger and tougher version. It features a muscular, low-to-the-ground body with exaggerated curves along the wheel wells. There’s also a large grille, aggressive headlights and massive fog lights
”The concept expresses our core brand values, safety, dependability, capability for outdoor activities and a forward looking attitude,” said Takeshi Tachimori, corporate executive vice president, Fuji Heavy Industries, LTD. “We know customers in this segment want a full-sized vehicle and the next 3-row from Subaru will be the biggest Subaru vehicle ever.”
Subaru doesn’t offer any details about the powertrain options, but according to latest rumors the car on the US market supposedly will be offered with two petrol engines, a turbocharged four-cylinder engine and a 3.6-liter six-cylinder engine with 260 hp.

that looks awesome! if they can hold that design donw for the production model to ship to dealerships, that's going to be a game changer.

The big deal here is to try to keep the cost of this new vehicle close to that of a loaded Outback plus offer incentives like good financing rates. If they don't(like Subaru did with the Tribeca) then it will be another financial disaster for them. Especially, since it resembles the new Toyota Highlander closely and that vehicle has a lot of loyal customers in North America.
