There And Back Again: A Panther's Journey
9 years ago
Much thanks to everyone who suggested ideas on helping me to calm down for my pair of flights to Portland and back. Through the liberal usage of music on my S7, and some rhythmic breathing, I managed both flights without any great degree of difficulty. In fact, I can now say that I'm reasonably certain that I could take a flight just about anywhere in the continental United States, and not have too much trouble. Still not out of the woods yet, as one of the reasons I want to work through this, is that my mother is gifting me a round-trip plane ticket to Tokyo when I complete my accounting degree. 11-12 hour flights to Japan and back are a little tougher than a trip and back in the United States. However, I think that with another flight under my belt in the future, I should be able to make that trip to Japan and finally cure my silly anxieties once and for all.
Oh yes, also learned a valuable lesson about chewing gum to help your equilibrium. If you're not an avid gum-chewer before the flight, you're going to have a sore jaw the next day. Learned that the hard way. :P
