Branching fetishes - Things change

Before I start: No, not dead, not leaving fandom, not even really hiding. Just busy with lots of other things. College starting, aba therapy, community work, pokemon sun and moon ;P, ect.
5 years ago, I would have never considered myself even remotely interested in Avian vore.
4 years ago, I would have never considered myself remotely interested in Herbivore's using softvore.
3 years ago, I would have never considered myself remotely interested in anything involving something other than oral vore.
2 years ago, I would have never considered even thinking about demi character vore.
1 year ago, I would have never considered I would end up having a skunk as a fantasy for a soul-mate.
Times change, and I've found that some things I used to be completely opposed to, I actual rather enjoy now.
I've found that, over time, one can learn to accept and understand pretty much everything. When one finds such quality in something they're normally opposed to, it can cause them to reconsider their views on it. In addition, when one slowly reaches out to others, and they reach out to them as well, it can cause you to reconsider it further. I feel that, if given enough time to express one's views, and enough time to with whoever they may be expressing their views to, that one can find understanding and possibly even enjoyment in subjects they never would have considered otherwise.
I see a lot of people in this community with rather stiff views. Not all of you, mind you, but I do see at least some of you expressing complete rejection, and sometimes even hostility towards certain other members of the community. Some of you seem to forget why you came in search of a place like this in the first place. This is a site for art, for expression of one's self, no matter how weird or possibly perverse it may be. This is a site for art, for the expression of one's deepest loves and fears, and possibly both at once. The reason art exists is to find others who might see it the same way, a call to those who might, just might, be able to see eye to eye with you. But, more than that, it is a site where one is not just expected to be oneself, it is a site where one can actually BE oneself. This is not a site for controversy, or hate in another's views. This is a site made to expand one's views, to show that one is not alone in the world, and to eventually see things from the eye's of another. This is a site for stories, for art, for music. This is a site meant to expand the views of anyone who comes across it. You all came here to be accepted, so why can some of you not do the same for others? We are a community. Sure we may be weird, nerdy, geeky, be into weird things, devious, or maybe just straight up normal, but we came here because we found we could find others like us. We came to express ourselves, and do so in whatever way we see fit, from our most obvious interests, to our deepest secrets, we came to be accepted for them. So, for anyone reading this, please, rather than bash someone for their views, instead think about the acceptance you were trying to find when you first came here. Acceptance only works when you accept others.
