Really I don't think people mind as long as you keep them updated. You do have a whole lot of work with school just now and it's not like you are not working on the commissions whenever you can. I think you need to relax because most people really are understanding and patient. :)

an evolving art style is a good thing. You are an artist and you've got some excellent skill here.

School is pretty damn crushing for free time/free thought. Don't worry too much about it. Focus on what you can do and just sort your time that much better.

Sorry that you're feeling the pressure :< I know what it's like to have commissions backed up for a few months, I've recently found myself in a similar situation, and have one before in the past as well. It's always a rough feeling.

I wouldn't worry too much about the technique on the pieces, I'm sure they'll love them either way. My art is so inconsistent and my commissioners always seem more than happy. I see it a lot from others as well. Until you've been doing this for like a decade you'll probably always be experimenting whether you know it or not. :>

I'd say you're an artist. A very good one at that. I think people are willing to wait if it means quality. And I've seen the quality you put into your work. It's more than worth waiting for.

I think you are a fantastic artist . And I know what you mean about waiting a long time. Darling, I still have yet to get to a scanner to get my raffle winner prize from A YEAR AGO uploaded, and THAT I feel horrid about. I am working on trying to get ahold of someone who can drive me so I can get it scanned myself.

*hugs* yeah I learned quickly in collage that being a freelance commissioner is seriously difficult to manage. (partially why i'm not taking commissions anymore). though you ma be a bit delayed to your clients i believe that you are still incredibly professional and your work still looks really consistent. Don't beat yourself up :) and remember to take care of the most important tings first :)

As long as you communicate with people and keep to your word, everything will go very smoothly with commissioners. As soon as you cannot keep your word, it's always best to let the person know why, and to lay out the bricks to the next path to completion.

You are an artist. Don't sell yourself short. I'm currently at a university as well, and it's kicking my butt. My free time is minimal, and when I do have it, I don't want to write music. I just want to sleep or hang out with friends. So, yes, I completely understand your issue here.

Besides, I'm not worried about the commission yet! Keep workin' hard at school work, but remember to let your commissioners know when you can get things done, even if it takes a while. Being in the loop is all they want.

Good art takes time. As a commissioner, I love it when it comes faster than expected because i'm always eager to see what wonderous thing an artist has done for me, but I [and others] know that art isn't just a one day thing when it reaches certain quality levels.

Don't close comms forever, but don't feel bad to take things slower to keep stress down! Let commissioners know that sometimes a commission might take a while, call it a week, 2, a month; whatever suits your time needs to feel you did well by them.
