Very vague memories of the show, myself. Seems to have been the wrong quarter of the year for the vagueness to have been caused by me watching Knightmare when it was on, though the correct day of the week, seemingly.

I'm not sure how I ever got to watching what I did, then - I think I might just have had CBBC on and remembered the things that stood out more. The very first time I saw anything like this was on what I was later to discover was Motormouth, and I was really scared of it - and it was when watching Eyespy that I know I began to develop a fascination with the risk, even though I still had to nervously cower behind the sofa in case the player had... chosen poorly!

I think I got to watching what I did as a child (including lots of WAM related programming) due, in part, to being a fan of games, and was lucky enough to grow up in an era where every other gameshow (3 in 4 in the case of children's specifically) involved WAM in some way, shape or form.

(...That in the case of chess specifically I liked it initially because of the shapes of the way the pieces moved [i.e. the topologies involved, but I was 3 when I first played and 5 when my memories of playing start, so using that term is probably inappropriate in this case] just goes to show how big a geek I've always been, I think)
