I heard. I grew up on the stories of Mercury, Apollo, the Space Race, and the living legends of those amazing times. It still seemed possible when I was a kid that we'd have colonies on mars by now. But things changed. No one's gone beyond orbit since the 70s, and the living legends who made it possible aren't going to be around much longer. He was the last of the Mercury 7.

I lived in Florida in the mid-80s. I have some memories of the space program.

Adversity breeds strength. Hopefully all this awful crap goin' on will make us the people we need.
