Yay!

The weird thing is, I had to change my monitor out for an older one recently, then I discovered by new monitor still worked at a lower resolution then normal... dual monitors!

So wanna hear something funny... I called up NEC (the people who made my new monitor) and they asked all about what was wrong and I told them and then they asked if I'd tried it on another PC, which I hadn't so i went and did that... it worked on another PC, then they said to try it on my PC again, I did (wit the new dvi cable) and it worked there too... I switched back to the old cable, it worked still and then i put the touchscreen overlay back on and it still worked!! O_O It was the darndest thing... so I have no idea what caused the problem! The woman at NEC suggested my touch screen overlay had maybe created static between itself and the monitor that caused the problem and having it unplugged for so long discharged the static and fixed it... i don't know if that makes sense though but I have no other explanation! How weird is that!?! Thank-you so much again for you advise though.
