I'm not religious. I can't stand the fact that the entire country grinds to a halt for a quarter of the year for a single holiday, consuming the others as it grows like a 50's movie monster. I despise that every store puts on Christmas music for months now. Bah humbug, etc.

But despite all that, I want you to have a Merry Christmas because it's not about me. As a society we're taught that enthusiasm is a bad thing - getting too excited about something is embarrassing, and one should always keep their uniqueness under wraps for fear of upsetting someone. But it's high time that changed. So even though the smell of pine needles and gingerbread makes me gag, I want you all to have an amazing Christmas! Go be with the people you love, eat way too much food, and drink egg nog until it's coming out of your ears!
