Year in review.

Truncated year in review.
Life events this year were challenging, probably the most so in many years. To recap I was diagnosed with kidney cancer in the first half of the year, had the offending organ removed mid year, and recovered for the trailing months. The scar ‘Tummy Symbol’ ever slowly fades, the lumpy scar tissue at one end has gotten smaller.
Hopefully I will not have to go through that again.*
So, new year, lets hope it’s FAR less bumpy than 2016!
*It’s not that I didn’t get awesome care, both from my Roo and the medical professionals, I certainly did.
I think; unsurprisingly, I don’t care much for being catheterised, cut open, twiddled, snipped and sewn. The pain was manageable when things were going as planned. The resulting shock to my digestive system was intensely uncomfortable. Basically when your innards get fiddled with, things like your intestines just stop. I had constipation like I hope I never have again. I was impressively distended. A mere cough was excruciating when combined with my incisions. Getting up from a seat, awful, literally rolling out of bed and getting vertical, toiling with gravity.

I believe the worst is now in the past - let's hope it will stay like this.
