New Years Resurrection

Wow hey I came back
Sorry about that guys, I sort of lost control of my life for awhile there. Lots of chocolate pudding at 4 in the morning, shit'll fuck you right up
(But in all seriousness sorry about that. I just needed to shut down for awhile and take a break, and take care of myself IRL... Plus the lack of a tablet was sort of throwing me off. I have a shiny new one now though, so yay! Not to mention some traditional sketches to finish and share)
So, how about some resolutions to kick of 2017? From what I've heard and what I feel myself, 2016 was garbage and I'm glad to see it go in all honesty, hahaha. Let's hope this year is not as shit! Here's my resolutions from 2016, let's see how I did...
My goals were...
"To Improve on painting digitally and traditionally, I really want to work harder at this! It's something I enjoy, I should be doing it more and getting even better! Watercolor, acrylic, maybe even oil!" ☑ I feel like I made some good steps in this direction: I'm a bit more confident in the medium! I didn't do as much traditional painting as I wanted, but with my current living situation it sadly has not been an option. I don't have a proper workspace, but I hope that will change this year!
"Also to Show more variance in character designs. I feel like I've been stagnating, I want to impose more variety in the builds of (especially) male characters! I wanna see more pudge, more muscle, less pudge, less muscle, and other more interesting attributes! As an optional bonus: draw more than 2 kind of penis shape, damnit" ☑ You know, I think this is a goal I've started putting in motion! I didn't do quite as much as I would have liked in this regard, but I sure did like the results from my brief and sporadic practices! I hope to work more on this in the future though.
"Further, to Become better at working with semi-realistic animals! This is something I still struggle with. I want to draw better ferals, more believably bestial critters." ☐ I didn't do much at all in this department... I think I actually accomplished more in 2015 when this wasn't even a goal I had! Ah well...
"I should also Start set designing and working on layouts for homes, towns, etc! This will be important for my next goal, which is to..." ☐ I didn't do any of this at all ;~;
"Get cracking on sequential art. I'd like to do one-shots, vignettes, and other simple comics in the upcoming year, maybe even finish the ones I was previously working on!" ☐ I made a few short pages and made SOME progress, but I can't honestly say I feel like I accomplished much at all. I like what I did do, but it simply wasn't enough.
So... 2/5. Ulp... Not too good. But that's alright, I'll just have to try to do better! In the spirit of that, here's some new art goals for the new year:
Do another Iron Artist! 100 pieces from January 1st to April 10th. I better get to work!
Make more adoptables! My goal is to release new adoptables every friday this year! I'm excited to work on this, because I think it'll be good for my creativity and give me an opportunity to let loose and design character concepts that I wouldn't normally. Here's hoping they find buyers!
Produce AT LEAST ONE finished comic one-shot. I'd like it to be at least 10 pages! Knowing me, it could very well be more though... If all goes well, I'd really like to start making them on a regular basis!
Work on my CharaDex some more! I'd really like to make entries for some of my more prominent characters: Cosette, Adelaide, Emile, Vasha, Rosamund, Aysel, Castellia, Luka, Alban, and of course, Percival. If possible, I'd like to also include characters like Arsenio, Credence, Tomas, Himeri, Jin-Dok, Lewin, Anathema, Maladie, Fairebank, Masao, Morningstar... You know, all those people you barely see me draw!
and finally...
Solidify some of my world building. For awhile, I've been wanting to make some documents/illustrations detailing certain aspects of the world my characters inhabit for my own use as well as to help others better understand. I have a few loosely scattered notes, a lot of even more loosely scattered ideas, but I think it's about time to stop brainstorming and put the pedal to the metal. I hope that'll be interesting!
So, there we have it! Let's hope this isn't too ambitious, and I can start the new year feeling confident. Do you have any resolutions? Feel free to share them, if you like!
:OTHER NEWS:
So now that I have my tablet again, I'm thinking that I'll start streaming again, starting on monday! I'll be joining torgmous sometime around 8pm EST, for those who would like to stop by. No plans for a concrete schedule yet, so we'll just have to see how it goes!
In regards to requests... I will most definitely not be doing them on monday. I'm thinking about opening subscriptions on my picarto page and only allowing subscribers to participate in requests. Of course with actual money on the table, I would guarantee at least one lengthy request stream per month, probably several if all goes well. This idea is not set in stone--I'm also considering just having a yearly fee (paid directly via paypal) between 10 and 30 dollars for participation--but I think that a small charge would be a much better way to run requests. As much as I enjoy doing them, I also have to acknowledge that it's simply not good for my stress or self esteem to do so many requests at no cost, and it would be a big help to have some extra money. I will say that if I get enough people interested in these requests, I'd likely use the funds for upgrading my picarto to premium... And in that case, I'd like to make custom emotes for the first few subscribers... Something little like that to say thank you!
But! I'd be interested to hear what you guys think. Does 5 bucks a month, cancel anytime sound good? Would a yearly fee be more your speed? Do you think it'd be best to offer both? I'd like to know your opinion!

FA+

And don't worry about it, it's perfectly fine that you needed to take time off; we all need to at some points right? (AND NEW TABLET WOO)
Hope you have fun with the Iron Artist! And seeing more of your other characters and world-building would definitely be interesting!~
Well, for my resolutions I guess all that really stands out to me are to try and draw more and continue my job hunting; tho with college and the fact of us moving this year I'm not sure when I'll be focused enough on that haha.
Hmmm, well I would think that a ~10-30$ year sub could be arguably the better option since there might be the off chance where you won't be able to stream for a month or 2; tho if you wanna open up both options I'm sure that'll work out pretty well also~ c:
For sure, I feel a lot better now :>
Thank you, I think I will! And thank you x3, I'm glad you'd find that interesting! I'll try to deliver ^v^
Yeah, that does seem better the more I think about it! I'll keep pondering it though, there's a lot to think on
