My phone stopped working suddenly, like, it is working, I can use internet but not receive incoming calls or SMS, I have an xperia sony ericsson android, not rooted, but when I took out the sim card, and put it in again, the date was reset to 31st January 1980, why did that happen?
Can anyone help me?
I need to fix this asap so I can use my phone, it's really important.

Like when I had issues, I take my phone back to the Sprint store
An they fix it for free
And we don't have Sprint store in norway, unfortunately.
I have no data on my phone, I only connect it to my home wifi.

I had a problem with at&t a few years ago, though I don't remember what it was. It was related to my phone and like yours was off contract because it was more than 2 years old. I couldn't fix it myself and I had to visit a store. I do remember that they were able to solve the issue that same day. I don't see why the age of your phone would matter if you are paying for their service.
I'm not paying for their service, I don't have data on my phone, it's just a normal old phone connected to my home internet, that's all.
