You might want to give Discord a try if you want sometihng with more function, otherwise Telegram is fine.

Discord is pretty good. I use it for voice chat while gaming with friends a lot lately.

While Telegram is less functional, I have found it to be far more aesthetically pleasing. Plus it's very good at what it does, unlike Skype these days.

(And, y'know, Telegram is not owned by a company which refuses to update the client for Linux users.)

Yeah, i seriously am baffled how skype got SO fucked up in the last few updates. It's almost unuseable now.

Skype grew complex when MS chose to play ball with the NSA and copy ALL Skype traffic to the NSA.

Skype has always been a performance hog for me, and if it weren't for a few people on it I'd have ditched it by now entirely too. It's awful.

I never had issues with it till a few months ago when it just stopped giving me notifications sometimes at total random, then after the last update it would just randomly take up to 10 minutes to send even a single sentence of text. It seems EXACTLY the same functions wise since MS got it only it worked before and doesn't now, what the hell did they do to it?
