Currently I am only a patron to one artists but I am always looking to maybe add to that. I like the idea that I get a piece of art from my contribution / pledge. Currently I pledge I believe its $25 and I get a type of monthly sketch that changes from month to month to help the artist try new styles / techniques and themes. I think those are nice but it really depends on your work load :)

Another option I saw some people doing is something along the lines of points. Differnt amounts give you points that you can redeem towards a commission or something. So even the lower pledges can pledge you something and still eventually get something. Again just something that requires planning and work to make it work right and might not be right for everyone.

That points idea sounds fun! It might be an effort to keep up with everyone's points but I bet it can work really well. Thank you for the feedback!

Depending on the tiers, sometimes offering small custom art helps? Or doing a currency system where like, every month of donation relates to a cuurency you can use to cash in rewards like art and icons and stuff.

To be honest, I'd be happy if you just gave yourself like an upload quota for art every month and kept to it, as I love your work and am happy to see lots more of it :P

I'm warming to the idea of a "currency" system which can be traded in for art, with more currency received the higher the tier.

I also Patron 3 artists, mostly because I like what they do and I want to give them some support, some of them do monthly packages basically a compilation of what they did during the month at high resolution plus some personal work or sketch, sometimes they also do time-lapse video that are private only for patrons or private streaming in which they take requests or offer critic to anyone that asked for them, the last three I mentioned are normally in a low tier 1$-5$ since they don't take to much put together, in the medium level at 7-8$ sometimes they offer the Photoshop files and post work in progress pic and at 20-30$ they do sketch commission normally limited to just five, then at highest tier (the price can vary it a lot) you get the full color commission slot also limited to just five

A commission with your character when you first join? Maybe put in a drawing and 1 lucky person gets in if picked.

I've seen similar stuff, like raffle entries. Even the lowest tiers get entries - but higher tiers get more.

Heh, im gonna be a shallow as fuck guy and say the reason ive supported some was to gain access to some NSFW art they post. since I know the artists and enjoy their style. Ive considered at times also going higher so that i could access special commission slots and discounts too, but for now at least just that really XD

I'm a patron for Cake Inferno. I was convinced because they made a very simple and convincing pitch: if they didn't get the support, it would be physically impossible for them to continue. They continue to put their videos up for free to all users, but I donate because I want to see them continue, and they've made it clear that every little bit helps.

I know that video production is a different beast, but the sorts of things they do are behind-the-scenes teasers, progress reports, alternate takes, early access, and higher quality video for patrons. Higher tiers are offered things like easter eggs that show up in videos -- I think one patron got their OC on the cover of a magazine that showed up in several shots.

What would be some good rewards? Well, people have already suggested things like patron points and art raffles. The things that come to mind for me would be early access, hi-res images, patron-only images, maybe regular art streams?

I might be an outlier because... I don't really feel motivated by Patreon rewards so much as simply contributing to an artist's well-being. And I don't contribute to more people just because I'm worried that I'm not going to notice how quickly it all adds up. u.u
