Jyoo C Thoughts 30: Unbridled Joy to bring in the New Year
9 years ago
General
I'm not normally one to build myself up into a frenzy, but I'm I'm about to explode!!! I've got to admit I'm riding pretty high right now after today! After years of pursuing and looking, and talking, and saving, and getting schedules to match I've finally realized a dream of mine ever since I first laid eyes on her. For any of you who watch my Youtube Channel you know there's an old 1966 Impala that I call Cassandra that I've been borderline obsessed over ever since we first moved to this house. Well today I triumphantly walked back down the hill where she's parked as I've done many times before; title in hand. The joy I'm feeling right now is so unreal that I'm worried I'm going to wake up any moment to realize it's been a dream. This is my first car and she's been neglected for a long time, but that's alright by me because nothing worth doing is ever easy!! Now comes the part where I get to put my money where my mouth is! I've succeeded in my fight to earn the chance to repair her, now I intend to use it and see what I can do!!
And that's what these new years resolutions are about, finding new limits and pushing yourself to be the best you that you can be! Now I don't want to be overly dramatic and be here like "AMG U GUISE I'MMA CRY <'D" but I am grinning pretty big right now! To have this moment as a part of my life is something I'll cherish forever! And it reminds me of the future, and the things I want to do, and who I want to be. I want to be the guy who fixes things, who does what he sets out to do, the oncoming storm who crashes against the shores of adversity, and the guy who always reaches higher leaving victory in his wake. I want to be the best me that I can be, not just for myself but for all my friends in my life who look up to me. I can't hope to put into words how much I love all of you! I do, very dearly! You all mean so much to me for sticking with me, for giving my art, my writings, and well ME a chance! Whether you've watched me 15 seconds ago or you've been with me for all the years I've been here! I love you all so much and offer my deepest thanks! It's an honor and a privilege to call you friends!
Which brings me to my next topic now that I've gotten all gushy lol. I might just be getting a new Janitorial job which will allow me a lot more money for restoring this car and attending conventions. AND, best of all it'll leave my afternoons free to keep drawing and try to keep an active presence here. Funnily enough the job was offered to me by the guy who sold me Cassandra! I'm still going to remain open for Commissions because I deeply enjoy art and I hope that one day I can make my art good enough for anyone who would want to commission me! As such, I've come up with my list of Resolutions for this year which I intend to achieve!
#1 BECOME A BETTER ARTIST I've taken up Oil Painting once a week to help learn lighting, shading effects, and other such details my art could benefit from. Because of that I've also been watching like a TON of Bob Ross! You guys can expect to see pictures of that in the future! Also, in my quest to become a better artist I've dedicated this week to a 30 minute Sketch challenge. Every day this week so far I've spent 30 minutes drawing a sketch of a picture I'd like to draw and the second the time is up I put my Pencil down and don't touch them for the rest of the week. I'm up to three now and I'm noticing I'm getting faster!! One of my biggest problems with my art aside from my ability to color, is how slow I am. On my best day it still takes me two days to get one picture done and I'd like to try to change that!! I have SO MUCH I want to provide to you guys and I need to step my game up to make this happen!! So with all of these different little exercises I'm doing I'm hoping I can start demanding a higher quality from myself and a faster pace!
#2 FINISH MY NOVEL BY APRIL Okay, I've mentioned this one to a few people off and on in December that I was working on trying to get the first issue of my original Sci Fi series I've been working on for the last 12 years done by the end of 2016. And while I was churning out Chapters like a machine for awhile I had an epiphany (in the shower like any other "sane" person) that while I was writing down GOOD content, I wasn't writing down GREAT content. I've been working on this universe for 12 years, that's half as long as I've been on this Earth, half of my life and soon to be more, and there's content and details, love and care I couldn't put in at that pace. I want to get it done, but not just for getting it done. I want to get it done when it's ready and with all the details to really paint the universe. I've only got like 6 Chapters to go so I think April is a very VERY reachable goal for this year and then after that I'm going to start the Sequel and see if I can't do that one in about four months. After that, it's off to the Publishers!!!
#3 BE MORE ACTIVE ON DEVIANTART I've been a member of DeviantArt for like eight or so years and I do enjoy it! But for the last two years due to stagnation, art block, and other issues I just got so burned out and resentful of the site that I just stopped getting online. It wasn't until I started a Fur Affinity Account and started doing Furry Art and mixing up my routine that my passion for art started to burn again. As an Artist I got lazy, I was looking for good enough to convey my ideas, not looking to make the drawings as good as I could. I've been preparing for an explosive surge of content to herald my return to DeviantArt and I will still upload my OLDER and not so good art there just to get the content there to show off the universe of my novel, BUT I will no longer accept that as good enough. I will return to older drawings and redo them afterwards to further show what I can do and what lives within my imagination. This does not mean I will in ANY WAY move away from Fur Affinity, because I love the furry community with all it's faults and I would never dream of giving up what I have here. I simply want to make both as good as they can be! I'll be linking each page to one another in the future so keep a look out for that and the mass art spamming which will be coming to DeviantArt!
#4 LEARN TO PLAY THE VIOLIN I recently bought a 290 Year old German Violin which was a knock off back in the day of a Stradivarius for 7 dollars in a store I really love down here. Neither myself nor the store owner knew what it was because at the time all it was, was a wooden body without any parts. I have it off being restored now, but for Christmas, as my dad didn't think I'd ever manage to get it fixed, he bought me a new Violin that I've been fiddling with (pun intended ; D) I'm hoping that by the time my old German Violin is fixed I'll at least know enough to play Greensleeves and hear what it's voice sounds like!!
#5 GET IN SHAPE I've been tackling this one for awhile, but I really want to make a push in my progress with it this year. I'm going to re-enter the Megaplex Anthropamorphic Dance Competition since I'm dealing with the ventilation issue which caused me to overheat last year, and I want to know I can do it! As a result I'll also be looking into dance lessons to make sure I can do this, but most of all I want to be rid of some of this excess mass and actually feel good about myself and actually BE healthy! This one is a bit personal for me because I got fat in the second grade and haven't been able to change that since. I've been getting myself in better shape, but it's time I REALLY applied myself and stuck with it. Cold showers, working out every other day, brushing my teeth every day (which sadly I don't, gross right?), minding my portion sizes, and getting back to doing Yoga once a day!
#6 RESTORE THE CAR I know I'm not going to get this one done this year alone, but I can start!! I'm going to see just how much of this "Impossible Task" I can get done in this year and I'm going to bring down my buddy Ian to help me make a go of this! After being neglected for over twenty years it's time she sees some love and gets back out on the road! The immovable object has just met the unstoppable force!!
#7 BECOME FLUENT IN GERMAN I've dabbled with this one for awhile and if I'm going to learn another language I think it's about high time I do so! And heck, it'll be good for the old brain box so that's a plus!! After I get German down heck I might move on to French!
#8 READ MORE If the pictures I've taken of my old 1800s and 1900s books don't betray this fact, let me come out and say it; I collect books!! The older the book the more I like it, but I also indulge my love of star trek and sci fi in general with my book tastes as well!! I don't watch all that much TV so I really don't have too much of an excuse here. I need to manage my time better and see if I can't fit in a Chapter a day in something! These books are the great sources of knowledge and they're not helping anybody just sitting around! >.> I'd rather read a book and learn something then have to play find the fact in the opinion stack that you get online.
# Love Potion (props to anyone who gets that) SEE A CHIROPRACTOR For whatever weird reason I find the sounds of popping joints and backs to be very relaxing. For awhile I've been using Chiropractic Compilations to relax and go to sleep. Works like a dream in fact, but I've put off getting one myself. Being at an unhealthy size (I'm not morbidly fat but there's only one healthy size) and having a bad knee from an injury I got from my cousin puts a lot of wear on my body. I think that a full body adjustment would do wonders for me.
#10 BE MORE ACTIVE ON YOUTUBE I've flirted with the site a little and uploaded off and on, but I've had ideas for things I'd like to film and I've not done it. So I'm going to start by trying to figure out what I want to do there, refilm one of my Cooking with Greaser Episodes and upload it after I'm happy with it, AND get some editing help to do a Zootopia review I want to put together. I liked the movie, but it's far from anywhere near as good as it could have been. lol so huzzah! One more opinionated jerk taking to Youtube!
# 11 MAKE AT LEAST ONE CARTOON BY THE END OF THE YEAR I actually have a friend who wants to voice Miss Candilly and I want to do at least one traditional cartoon by the end of the year. I grew up loving Disney and the cartoon worlds they inspire so I think it's time I try my hand at it and see if I can't bring the characters of Pelican's Bay to life!
And that's it! I'll update these as I accomplish them and see if I can't make a dent in this by 2018!! Thanks for taking all the time to read this you guys! Feel free to tell me all your Resolutions in the comments! Here's to hopefully a productive new year!! HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I STILL CAN'T BELIEVE I FINALLY OWN THAT CAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SO HAPPY!!!!!!
And that's what these new years resolutions are about, finding new limits and pushing yourself to be the best you that you can be! And thank you! Same to you my friend!
I'm about as proud of you as a bro can be, I have to admit I kind of thought you were being adorably naive and maybe not quite knowing what you were trying to get into when you talked about buying Cassandra. But I guess I'm the one that's going to be eating my hat now huh? It's been an amazing journey watching you get to know all these guys, getting that cherished life-story of Cassandra revealed, getting to see 'peek her dress' for the first time, and now actually getting her slave papers handed over.
I want to apologize for being so vacant lately, I saw your note saying how you wished I'd gotten back to you during these final victorious moments. I'm very sorry about that, and really I only hurt myself by acting that way. I had nothing to do with you, I just happened to be going through some tough times lately in regards to energy and motivation, maybe even a little pointless depression. I'm sorry if you feel like we've drifted apart, I know we seem to have less to talk about now that Pinky's story is over... for now. I'm hoping we can find some common interests again though.
I'm still looking very forward to coming down and trying to get her going again with you, just so you know. I'll bring all the tools I can and we can stay up late at nights if we have to getting her ready changing fluids and such, testing things, getting her all prepared.
I saw you said that engine problems is what she had, did you manage to get a more direct answer to that? Because that could make a big difference. Like is it something broken or just something not working right? Because to put it into perspective, a cracked/broken camshaft or piston arm could be a major weeks long project while a dirty carburetor or bad spark plugs could be a 2 day job.
lol slave papers? Dude come on now XD this is a happy occasion! More like Birth Certificate I'd like to think! Or Social Security Papers! And I've managed to figure out a bit about her too from the VIN number! She's originally from Doraville/Atlanta GA and has 81549 3/10 miles on her odometer and rolled out of a plant made in the 40s! The only thing I don't have is the Date when she rolled off the line otherwise I'd celebrate her birthday too! She even has a more rare "DD" on her VIN tag in the door which means Dealer Delivery, which the Dealer put in when she arrived on the lot. Only a few lots did that because stamping that in there often damaged the VIN tag. lol And you should know me better than that my friend! What I set out to do, I achieve! I'm working on trying to track down what MAKO Motors did with Bert when they closed down, that one's going to be slightly harder though because he was MUCH more expensive.
Hey, we all have our bad days man. I know I have. I don't blame you for needing a few days to sort yourself out. And hey! Now the fun starts right? I think there's more than a few moments to be had with Cassandra now! Her first headlight flicker, the first attempt to start her, the first grumble of her old engine, testing to see if she still turns over, and stuff like that! And I think we've kept in contact pretty decently after Pinky! But I know what you mean. If we could do more Instant Messaging I think that'd help but Delacroix's getting on in years. I had to start emergency file transferring last night because I had less than one Gig of memory left. If you could install Skype on your mobile phone (the mobile app is much better) I know I'd be able to zip you off something once a day easily! And speaking of Common interests, since I'm getting better at Art I'm going to try to redraw the Giddy, the BIGGS, and the Melvin as well as upload more robots and some of the vehicles I have planned for my Sci Fi verse!! I'm looking to set aside a week to start doing that actually and make a big return to DA in a Sea of new uploads.
That sounds like a plan to me buddy! And bring your filming equipment too! I want to document her recovery and upload it to youtube to show people that things can be saved and that it's worth it to do so! That you can LEARN how to save something and fix it rather than replace it! I need to save up my money first before I tackle Cassandra but I'm going to start picking up supplies this weekend.
I didn't because I'm not sure Buddy entirely knew either. I know he's mentioned having wanted to rebuild her ending over the years so I'm not totally sure what's going on, but I got a buddy named Scott who lives nearby who offered to help me test the engine to see if it still turns over. I'm thinking about doing that within the coming week. So I'll try to give you a prelim review of everything so you know what you're tackling when you come down here! And I'm going to remind my dad about our agreement about you coming down here for about a week to help! lol it's funny, he keeps talking about how I "defied him" and all this, but before I even got the title, like when I put the down payment on her, Dad was sneaking online when I wasn't looking and looking up stuff about Impala's and grumbling to my mom. Now he's all on board to offer assistance. So we'll see where that goes.
Lol not in your case man, I know. Cassandra is one of the lucky ones, she's actually going to someone who's going to free her from slavery and allow her to life as an equal, and I'm very happy about that. But no, slave papers are what they are. History of owners on it? Come on it's slave papers. :) Birthday should be on the VIN as well as it being her unique identifying numbers.. so the VIN is more of a birth certificate and SSN. You should find someone to look at the VIN, her birthday HAS to be there. Some guys helped me decode Mitzis and it revealed some very interesting things. http://forums.y-blocksforever.com/T......aspx#bm121524
Thanks buddy. Indeed, now is when things get interesting. Aw dude you're going to love that, turning on her headlights or not even just that, testing out all the signals too for the first time. Just slap in a battery and try it out, one of her headlights has to at least work still. Just try not to have this buddy of yours fully start her without me, I wouldn't want to miss that for the world man. ;) Really? Well I'm glad you think so. Aw come on man, I don't want 10 different IM apps on my phone, I already had to just get the facebook messenger app for another friend. Can't you just text me?
Delecroix had one gig of memory left? You're talking about hard-drive space aren't you? That's NOT the same thing as memory and all you do is confuse computer guys when you say that lol. Then just transfer your docs to a thumbdrive or portable HDD. Hell they make thumbdrives bigger then some people's hard drives now.. like 32 - 64 gigs. If Delecroix is getting old and slow it might be time to re-birth her and reinstall linux fresh, make her a newborn again. I know with Windows it'll just naturally get slower over the years just from the file system getting cluttered and confused.
Will do, I bought a GoPro this Christmas, gonna use it finally have a reliable method of recording while driving, gonna catch Lilly in the act talking and stuff, she's not going to be able to keep it a secret anymore. ;) I'm just gonna make it a habit to record the whole time, every drive at night. Statistically it's inevitable I'm going to capture a whole catalogue of her doing stuff. But I'm going off topic, yes I'll bring that and stuff. If you're going to go tool shopping all you really need is the basics. A wrench set, a socket set, flat-head and Phillips-head screw driver, a breaker-bar, and a torque wrench. That's really all the stuff I ever needed when I worked on Mitzi... those great old cars that you don't need special tools for. ><
Hmm that's worrying, I wonder if he wanted to rebuild her engine out of habit or out of necessity.. >> He SAID she was running and drove to where she was parked right? So she couldn't have had something too serious going on.
I couldn't get too much information about her with her VIN. lol that's originally why I wanted to call you up because if there's ANYONE who can go into full detective mode on that it's you! Here http://vinwiz.com/1965-1971gm.php?v.....=164396D195405 that's all I managed to gather aside from some additional information on her factory. If you can find her birthday that'd be great! I'll check her title to see if it's there but I'm tagging you in now man XD Let's see what all you can find!!
lol nah we're not going to start her up! I just want to test to make sure her engine isn't bricked. My one neighbor was telling me this super gentle way of easing up and loosening up an engine that's not run in ages. I still don't have a key for her yet because I think Buddy's might've been lost in a fire or when this one lady who kept all his records died. I'm debating going to the Chevy place and having them get me a new one and getting into her trunk to see if it's still there or not, or getting her a new dash key and replacing her locks. I'm leaning more towards getting a new key.
It says C Disk space when you hit computer and it says like "1.52 remaining out of 37.something" lol so I've been moving stuff over to my one super huge flashdrive in the hopes of freeing up space.
Well hey I can't wait to look over the videos and see for myself in that case buddy! And I think I already have most of those tools ready to go!!
And Buddy was saying it wasn't the Transmission that was leaving her down, it was something in her Engine he thinks. Mr. Daniel's Daughter just last night told me she recalled Cassandra to be in driving order which matches the story that Mr. Buddy drove her and parked her in that spot. We'll cross that Bridge when we get there. I know the Odometer says 81549 3/10 on it so I think at one point she had already been rebuilt or she was woefully underdriven in her glory days. I look forward to seeing what you can do with her VIN number because it took my help for Buddy to get it through those people's thick collective skull that that was in fact her VIN number.
Original Mitzi: https://scontent-dft4-1.xx.fbcdn.ne.....mp;oe=58D5D695
(It's almost like one step up from a Matte paint job.. just a little shiny)
Clear coated 55: http://classicauto-showplace.com/fi.....IMG_0112_0.JPG
(See how it looks like it's just got this glossy coating? Well.. because it does.)
But classic car people are weird, from what I hear a lot of people like original paint because it has patina.. a fancy word for looking aged.. hell some people even like rusty cars.. doesn't make sense to me.

Well I did 5 minutes on google and found this. But how much this helps you depends on weather or not this is the correct VIN plate its using.. I searched for a 1965 VIN type. If it's right then here's the key. Her month/week description is the little 3 letter bit above the main VIN in the upper left I think but read the whole paragraph for more information. But the example they show has '05D' which is 4th week of May.
month: 01 = January, 05 = May, 09 = September and 12 = December, etc.
week: A = 1st week of the month, B = 2nd, C = 3rd, D=4th and E=5th.
Also that Paint code will be very helpful later when you replace that hood ect.
The one word of advice I've heard about engines that have sit is that you should take out the spark plugs and put some oil in each cylinder. Look it up first but I'm thinking you may be able to put some WD-40 or something in there too to work away at any rust that may have formed between the piston and the cylinder walls.. but again look up on that first because I'm not sure! I'm sure your buddy will probably be doing it by hand with a breaker bar, probably rocking it forward and back till it loosens up.
That will be a big job changing all the locks, mainly in the doors really. I wonder if a locksmith or something would be able to MAKE a key if you took one of the locks out and left it with him.. I'd maybe look into that. LOL you've done the movie trick and seen if the key is in the sun visor right? lol (of course mentioning sun visors now I'm thinking of that poor lil sunk Beech plane.. damn it)
That's exactly what you should do. Delacroix needs at least some free disk space to cache her memory in and out of.
Good glad to hear it. :)
Maybe people just didn't drive as much in the old days. Because Mitzi only had 37000 miles on her, and she was roaming around from 1955 to 1980something.
Oh man though, that glossy coat makes her look like she's right out of someone's dream!! I bet that's the look every commercial back in the day wanted to go for! Magic on wheels! I don't envy your choice there man. And on the topic of paint, or rather lack there of. Do you want me to wait until you get down here before I tackle the rust or are you keen for me to go ahead and start doing that without you?
AH yes >.< the patina. I get to hear that word ALL the time from my dad about older objects. Now to an extent I do like that patina, that look of wearing their battle against time proudly on their sleeve, like if you have a Medieval Goblet or ring or something, heck that's one of the things I like about star wars droids. But for cars I'm a little eh on it. If it's a little cosmetic blemishes from time with an older owner I could see it serving as a reminder of days past. But if you're looking at someone in Cassandra's position and saying "NAH, THAT'S FINE! THAT'S A GOOD LOOK!" then I think they need set about the head by means of golf club. lol but that's just my opinion.
I'll see if I can decode it then! Thanks for the help! But the VIN TAG on her door just says Chevrolet DD and then below that is her VIN.
lol oh heck yes! I did a bit of research on that to find her proper and original color since the VIN and title don't go into any more details aside from "BLU"
Yep! Mr. Scott was telling me about that! I'm thinking about maybe trying that today to see what kind of state her Heart is in to see if I can work on it or if she's going to need a transplant, which admittedly would sadden me.
Yeeeeeeeeeah I'd rather get the new key to be honest. There's a Chevy Dealership just up the road and it can't be all THAT expensive to have them get me a lost key. According to Buddy I can just walk in there with the title and say "Hey I own this car and I need a new key" and they should hook me up by contacting a factory. lol and yes I've tried that many times. lol you know I was actually telling my mom about your research regarding that documentary the other week!
I'm guessing! Maybe she spent more time on a lot than anything. Of course, I don't know what kind of person her dealer was so he could've tried to modify that.
Yeah its interesting huh? Part of me almost wishes she were still all white, as the white paint was obviously superior quality.. it still looks shiny and pretty good, the blue is really flat looking. People think its silly of me to say for some reason, but to me it makes sense her owner would buy an all white car.. being a doctor and all. She was his work car doing home-visits.. makes sense having her all hospital white doesn't it?
Well the way to be sure if she was always blue is if you ever get to sanding on her and you see her change color as you sand through the layers of paint lol.
Yeah I know right? Very dreamy... >> I'm sorry dude you're right. With the shape Cassandra's in it probably seems whiny for me to be complaining to you about my paint not being shiny enough lol. ^^;
Oh no dude, by all means vinegar that girl up, kick that rust's ass. I'm just there for the engine work, you do all the beautification and body restoration done you can. :) Just be sure to send me pictures of your progress. Oh and you said you'd get me more engine pictures!
I get that aspect you're talking about. A sort of way of the car visually showing all the years of hell it's survived. Like you said, it's kind of like a visual right of passage saying "respect me I've been around a long time." But to me it has to be a certain way. Like if you're going to go for the patina look it only looks good if it's done ALL the way.. like totally rusted on like %80 of the body. http://bangshift.com/assets/galleri.....na/patina1.jpg but if it's Mitzi's case where %80 of her looks almost show-quality but she has like these little spots all over where paints chipped away. That doesn't look like patina to me, that looks like I'm lazy and neglecting her.. to me. https://scontent-dft4-1.xx.fbcdn.ne.....mp;oe=590A17F1
If you can get me a photo of the VIN plate I can better research it. Hopefully what I found helps if you get another look at it..but yeah get me a picture. Lol Cass has DDs huh? : P *punched*
So her VIN plate doesn't have the paint code? You're SURE you're looking at the main VIN plate right? It should be inside her door well.. o.o
Yeah I'm in the same place, by all means try to keep the original engine, there's something special feeling and listening to the purr of an engine you know is 60-50 years old. It's like a time capsule, you're feeling/hearing the same thing they heard back then.
: \ ............
Yeah maybe.
O0O I HAD NO IDEA MITZI WAS OWNED BY A DOCTOR FORMERLY!!! HOW ON EARTH HAVEN'T YOU DRAWN HER AS A LITTLE NURSE YET!?!! lol I can see it all now! Pinky's sitting next to Violet whose sick on the couch and beside her is Mitzi ready to take her temperature with one of those old timey Doctor's Bags next to her! lol my brain exploding aside, that's an interesting bit of history on her and yes it makes total sense. Buddy originally drove Cassandra around going from site to site keeping up with his lawn care company. There's a cruel sense of irony there that she's been left for nature to claim her. I'm assuming Mother Earth holds a grudge like that :/
And on that note I know I saw a red mark on Cassandra but I think that might be a smudge more than anything. If the title shows the color she rolled out of the factory with then I think that's settled. On the topic though, I was up there cleaning her windows today and there was some odd green slime on the town afterwards. I think it might've been pollen reacting to the windex but my first thought was Algae for whatever reason and it really felt like I was trying to scrub away time itself. The interior of her Driver's side door is also in a bit of a state like I mentioned (because I think the inner lining is separating from the rest of the door) but I've been going up there every day since I bought her doing little things to clean her and dress her up before we tackle the mechanical stuff.
lol no man! That just gives me something to aim for!! One day I'll be in that situation too and it just shows how much you care for and probably spoil mitzi XD lol though I'm far from one to talk!
XD Aye aye man! And I've had another friend tell me to take more pictures so I think I'm going to start doing that and maybe filming of my own before you come down here to document the process! When I save up the cash I'm going to end that rust once and for all!!
Huh, now you see I'm almost the exact opposite way. When they're that rusty I can't help but think either their owner isn't taking good care of them or they just have this "Well my owner is soon to or has already died within the last few weeks" and when they just have a few flecks of it here and there it feels more like just a little age mark; like a liver spot. They're still beautiful in paint, they still stand strong against time, and have only been lightly pocked by time's touch.
Sure thing man! Engine, Interior, VIN Plate!! I look forward to combining our efforts to see if we can't figure out what her Birthday is!! >.> So long as you know you're getting punched...
Yeah it's sideways just as you open her door. I've looked at it like twice over the course of buying her.
lol when I was still with my ex I know when I was feeling emotionally exhausted or having a bad day I'd hunt up "Car starts after..." and just listen to that sound of the engine sputtering back to life. It always brought a smile to my face. It's like hearing their voice as much as the horn would be.
I'd hate to think whoever sold it to Mr. Buddy did something nasty like that. o.o or god forbid she's actually rolled over and the zeros in front of 81549 3/10 are hinting on a bigger number. Though I find that unlikely.
