Need help learning how to roleplay

After actually getting to do some story stuff I found out I actually suck at it, and when other people say they've been playing since the 90s I start to feel really intimidated because I've only actually been able to start doing this kind of stuff (a little tiny bit) in 2016 and I'm the only person without significant amounts of experience.
Everything that goes on seems really advanced and I always get lost, but that doesn't matter because the scene just keeps going anyway without anyone acknowledging my existence at all and I eventually just leave. I don't know how to lead or come up with ideas at all and I don't feel like I'm contributing very much.
It's really getting to me again that I'm only good at sexual stuff.
I feel like I need practice in order to get better but I don't know where to get practice if everything that happens is above my skill level and no one wants to work with me.
Help?

If you ever want a 1-on-1 non-sexual RP partner that can give you a full world to develop your character and RP skills with, I've got some worlds I can work with :D
There are comics with the kinds of settings I like, but since they're comics there's really not a whole lot of text. I don't know if that's a problem considering I think I'm pretty good at describing actions from all the practice I've had with it in sexual RP.
I think the main issues I have are actually contributing something and giving other people a reason to spend their time on me, which seems to be more about creativity and plot stuff. But with the things I like being very different from what other people like I'm not sure how to really approach that. I don't know how to come up with an enticing plot or lead anyone anywhere, and I don't seem to have picked it up from stories or comics.
