Honestly? Not sure why you like what you like, but I think it's a common enough thing to enjoy. I mean hell, you've seen my gallery.

As for the "free" thing: Well, that's just the way people are. If someone can get something free, they tend to jump at it. I've never offered my writing for free, but I do sometimes give it out to people I know. Nobody ever asks me for freebies, and I never offer them because I know how many randos would show up to exploit it.

This is a good response. So in the near future I shall stop giving freebies.

As is your wont. People shouldn't expect anything free. It's a courtesy, if given, and I've seen too many people get uppity when they don't get something. So in the age old wise words of my family: Fuck 'em.

Yes,to me it seems people get snippy and uppity when I don't give them one. If I do give someone a freebie most of the time they a.) don't even say "thank you" and b.)They want some super detailed and masterpiece worthy. Then I end up feeling like a douche for not giving it to them. Maybe I should just say fuck it.

Yes,I try to ask before I draw anyone's character even for requests/gifts.I also try to warm people that my artistic quality varies from picture to picture and that if they want things changed they can get them changed.People are becoming more and more entitled to free stuff.When I do requests,it's to get better at draw different things.

yeah. free is like ringing the dinner bell. if you're able to make more money, do it. if you have too many people commissioning you, raise your prices. if you can do anything to make more money, do it. if lowering your prices a little means more commissioners, do it if you'll make more money. as you get better, you can charge more, and make more. always remember that.
