Assuming you even get one launch day. It's going to be the NES Classic all over again. Supplies will be so low, by the time most people will actually be able to get one, the library of games will finally be large enough to render this argument moot.

Nintendo Is So Behind With The Times, Although That Might Mean We Wont See Micro Transactions For Another 10 Years XP

Nintendo is out of touch with the western market. They've got such a big ego and talk out of their collective ass when they claim they have "great" third party content on the way. Third parties have sold TERRIBLY on Nintendo Platforms since the Nintendo 64 launched because of dumb design decisions that inhibit developers' creativity.

Allow me to explain:

N64 - By far the more powerful system between itself and the Playstation 1, but the cartridge format offered FAR less capacity and was much more expensive than manufacturing CDs which could be made for pennies.

GCN - Again, nothing wrong with the power here. Nintendo foolishly decided to go for a propriety disc format instead of DVDs which offered FOUR times the capacity and were arguably cheaper.

Wii - Everyone bought the Wii for Wii Sports and Wii Play then dropped it like a hot potato. Only the most hardcore of Nintendo fans kept it alive.

Wii U - A system that launched SEVEN years after the Xbox 360 but was still less powerful. Not only that, the PS4 and Xbox One far surpassed it in less than a year.

what's worse is that the Switch equivalent of Wii Sports is like, $50? They don't even include it xD

That's just evil. Plain wrong. 1-2 Switch is a party trick, a novelty. It's honestly disgusting that they have the audacity to believe anyone with half a brain would pay $50 for that tech demo. I can promise you that development took less than three months.

I plan on getting it during the holiday season once there's a decent library out by then, little point getting it early only to have very few games to play on it

not to mention there's plenty of games on my 3DS, WiiU and Steam that can keep me busy in the meantime

ehh it's a debate sure but why bother spending that 350? when i could get a varcade? or a new computer part to further perform well on a gaming pc? i mean good god, nintendo is losing it. i stopped playing consoles like at what? 2010. got tired of it. "oh new system coming out, fork over 300 more or so dollars to get the newer shit." it's getting bad in general, just get a pc and be done with consoles till they get their shit together. it's also bad enough phone games are now becoming a thing these days. there are actually some decent ones buuuut yeah. not sure, seems like consoles are just losing touch in general also handhelds.

Yeah, I primarily play on the PC. If you buy a decent processor, you can coast on just GPU upgrades for a pretty friggin' long time.

And console exclusives are anti-consumer, plain and simple. Seems like Microsoft is coming around, since they're porting all their games to PC xD

pretty much yeah. though microsoft has fucked up as well cause of windows 10. :T it's fine now but it was bumpy for a bit.

Pff... those wars have been going on for 20 years. I've got a stack of game mags dating back to the 90's, both asking whether the PC/consoles were on the brink of death.

I'm just gonna wait later in the year or so for more games to come out. Besides I decided to get a PS4 first anyway. Idk I guess I just seems like I should feel bad for liking consoles or something. *shrugs*

Sorry to hear that. But yeah the PS4 has games that I want to play so that's really all there is.

Yeah, I'm in the same boat. I was really surprised that given its stellar launch, it still took a good 2 years before a wave of games came out for the PS4.

My PS4 is largely useless, but I still use my PS3 all the time as a media player (I like the PS3 controller better than the PS4).

to be fair they should of charged more, put a 1080p panel on it, got it on x86 format rather than arm and actually make it a decent console in its own right in terms of power.
If they made it with say an i3 y processor, put a small 80gb ssd in it and put an gtx 1050 or something it would of killed the xbox+ps4, the power draw wont be too bad, chuck in a bigger battery and the screens are cheap anyways, id say it would add on say another $100 but youd have an epic laptop for that, plus as the console ages the price for production will drop like a rock.

Nintendo is in a bad situation. They're pretending that the Switch isn't a successor to the WiiU, so they don't tick off home gamers, even though we all know the WiiU is totally dead. Instead, they made a mobile architecture into a half-assed home console, sabotaging the 3DS market. So, they killed two platforms, not just one, even though they desperately depend on mobile sales to stay relevant against Sony and MS.

On top of all that, they priced themselves out of the market, even at $300. More than that for a mobile machine would not have worked, regardless of power.

Well I dunno, I wouldnt say increasing the price would kill the console, at the end of the day if the specs were good enough then it would think it would sell from a pc,xbox and ps4 stand point, if people are willing to spend 1k on a pc then I'm sure youd get quite a few interested in it as a more powerful console thats hand held.
I'd imagine youd even get people trying to hack it to use as a pc machine.
