Tablet Help, Please!!

Hi all! I really need help with my arting set up!
A big reason there hasn't been a lot of art from me is that to make art I really have to fight with my current setup. I'm using a Surface Pro, the original, none of the ones with numbers.
The problem I am having is that if I so much as lightly graze my wrist or hand on the tablet, something will pop up. Usually the Windows 10 "Action Center", but sometimes something else. Because of the way I hold my hand when I draw this happens EVERY FEW SECONDS. This makes doing line art next to impossible for me, and sketching and coloring a huge pain. I can't hold my hand differently, either, believe me I've tried!!
There's other contributing factors to the lack of art, but having to fight to produce anything takes the wind out of my sails, and I feel when I -do- manage to draw something, it isn't up to the quality I'd like it to be because of the struggle.
I also don't have money to invest in another tablet, and right now the Surface Pro is my only way of computing, period.
Any suggestions are welcome! I've already tried Googling around for help, but to no avail.
