So many other furry websites do things better then FA but still the site remains the most popular simply because it was first.
so many features that other websites have that FA lacks
The tagging system on Ink bunny is GREAT!
-dont feel like tagging your work? I know i dont, you can let other people tag it for you. People can suggest tags and all you gotta do is accept them and presto your arts tagged and you didnt even have to tediously do it.
The popular page of Furry network and Inkbunny are great aswel . especially Inkbunny's popular section, they make it easy to get your art circulated across the website.
-Just hit like 200-300+ views and boom your work has a chance to randomly pop up on the front page's popular section, and with how many people go in and out of the website on a daily its pretty easy for something to go from 300-600-1000 in like a week and for your follow counts to take a good spike aswel.
I also really like how Inkbunny has submissions specifically for posting Stream adverts. your followers immediately know you're streaming without having to hunt for a submission or journal.
I also REALLY LOVE how you can upload in bulk and have multiple images under one submission like Inkbunny,Pixiv or Furry Network.
Overall I just think Inkbunny +furry network do ALOT of things right with there interfaces and features.
Being likely the most used furry site why is FA lacking so intensely. like come on. Step. it. up

You can use sarcasm and irony in text, but you have to over exaggerate a lot more then when you are talking, making it absurd most of the time
One thing that FA has that IB doesn't however is that FA allows art depicting humans in sexual situations while IB doesn't. Everything else i do agree with you
I actually REALLY don't like the popular pages idea, since it just keeps to popular stuff popular instead of giving less popular artists a chance to shine.
And really it has kinda been answered too. No real competition that is making them run for their money. Until that happens it'll improve, but really really slowly and mostly only on an "as utterly needed" or "we're recoding to handle things better so we don't need a second server so why not" basis..
A lot of people don't use it because they don't approve of cub. A lot of artists aren't strictly furry, they do human work.
IT IS talking about functionality. They can't use it because of the things it HOSTS.
Content is a part of a sites functionality.
no one was looking for drama and that being your reaction is hilarious. Because the journal itself was not just about tagging.
it was about the sites whole ups on fa, streaming uses, the easy view counts, bulking multiple images, ect.
i even quoted the part about WHAT i was commenting about lol

i
am saying
that is why people stay on fa
good lord i am on topic
u mad
salt 4 life
goodbye.
Personally I wish fa would implement better tagging and slowly phase out the whole drop down system like species and the like first and foremost. Perhaps apply them as tags to earlier art to ease the transition. Also would reduce redundancy such as Pokemon and Digimon being both types and species.
After that you could implement either a moderated tagging system (sadly moderation would likely be needed) to allow users to help fix or add tags to art. Would help get some good art that isn't tagged get some attention.
Then we can move on to better avatar support and maybe even encourage new features of html5 like WebM and webp. Webp is a vp9 video based image format if you didn't know. Looks a ton better than gif for animation at smaller sizes, and gives JPEG a decent run for its money.
All this to at least start.
Jesus it is still up. Does anyone even use it anymore? http://us.vclart.net/vcl/
Fn is run by the most corrupt asshole I've seen who killed a 10 year old site that had exclusive content, just so he could funnel more people on to FN. He also bent to the wills of the fucking whiners and banned anyone who opposed the "anti cub" rule, which banned a shitload of pokemon and chibi style artists.
So I will not participate on that site. It's more corrupt than FA.
Tagging is just a joke as it is right now. There should be a similar database as Inkbunny, possibly closer to e621 with a required 4-6 tags to define what is going on, though as said above, suggested tags are a prime helper.
The bonus of a "stack" of images being updated helps, as well as notifications for when an older submission is updated.
Step 2: Said admins need to be able to do their job right as well as even do their job.
Step 3: FA needs to remove the text limit for tags before they even bother to allow viewers to suggest tags
Step 4: They let their popularity excuse their laziness because why act fast when everyone will just keep coming back anyway?
Basically this is Furry Comcast™ and we're blessed with an update that should already exist once every season.
