It's always a couple of bad apples to ruin a good thing but hey, gotta look out for yourself since not a lot of folks will. Don't take no shit from no one.

Time is best spent with those who you know are nice and can trust - those that aren't petty.

What I mean is - you'd be better off chilling with those you genuinely enjoy being with or just doing your own thing rather than worrying about the opinions of people who you know don't like you.

I know how you feel oh god. It sucks when people don't even "like" the artists art, unless they do it for free and that's just very douchy of them?? tbh??
Something that also seems to be very common is when they watch you "just to get free art" in like raffles/kiribans and that ruins the fun of it? I do rather draw a free request to a loyal watcher who appreciates my art and me as a person, then someone who only watches me for free art :cc

This is why I get nervous for art trades.
I've had people offer art for my adopts but then never do the artwork, so now limited it to only people I watch @-@

That sucks that people try and take advantage of you like that :c pretty messed up, people are always wanting handouts and freebies

I'm nervous about this happening myself. I guess one thing to make it workoutis by sending WIPs to each other at the same time: one for sketch and line and then continue from there if you don't know them?

I guess why I mostly are willing to art trade with friends. So many fake people ruins it for the honest... -scratches head, paranoia up-

It works! The sending WIPs to each other, but it kinda seems draining with people you don't really know, cause personally, I'm always feeling like if I don't get it done quickly, they'll be upset.
For now on I strictly wanna stick to people I know/friends. Cause I feel like they would be a bit more understanding X'3

omg like what is the point of even asking if you don't like the artists work? Like wasting everyone's time and then when you're talking smack youre also hurting the artists feeling's too? I feel really sorry this happened to you. Even I only recently re-opened trades but I've done it for mutual's only just because I've had so many crappy scenario's where I finish my part but the other person doesn't finish there's.

Trades with friends is totally understandable and it sucks massive eggs that you had to deal with such a person :C You have gorgeous artwork and I can't wait to see more.

What's with people lately and not appreciating art anymore? I mean c'mon. Even I know your art is worth something other than "free".

Well then I'll do something super cute and you can have for free because I don't charge for stuff i post anyway since having had a really bad experience with 'Circuit' over creating six commissions for 2.5% of what i should have charged for all the headaches he gave me demanding art. (His requires another two pages of 'free art" to finish that series!)

I burned myself out completely from doing the other commission for 2.5% of what i should have charged that i wanted to finish but I drew myself into a brick wall. - I have to do several pages of multiple panels of 'free art' to fill in the story line otherwise the story won't make any sense and won't have an ending; It requires another 35 panels across seven pages beyond the 3 pages the guy originally paid 2.5% for. perfectionism is an artist's prerogative, people that underpay you for art that is 250 times better than you used to do can wait for me to get inspired again as well as have a place to live to actually be able to do any art at all; especially when they got such a bargain in the first place!)

Geez... Some people really don't know how to treat art. There's never a need to like another's art but the least thing to do is showing some respect. Really, your art is really valuable to a lot of people so I understand you don't wanna waste it on those who can't appreciate it. Just keep your chin up ~ At least you can learn from it and handle it differently in the future, even though it's sad that that's necessary :'3 Keep it up, you're doing an amazing job ~
